Great series from the Caps... After getting a solid look at the Rangers roster now if you could snag a player for the Caps who would it be?

artilector 05-13-2012 12:01 AM

Wade Redden.

This question is easy. The Caps need a center. The Rangers had a center step up big time and provide clutch scoring. Brad Richards.

Basically the cap hit as Semin, but the length of the contract is a bit concerning (it lasts until he's 40).

But contracts aside, he's the easy answer.

Drury?

DanTHEMan71 05-13-2012 12:55 AM

Callahan

as a Ranger fan...looking at your team...i'd probably say Ryan McDonagh...then again, i see him night in and night out, and i see a perennial all-star defenseman in the making. 22 years old playing night in and night out against the top offensive players in the league while only in his first full NHL season. kid is a marvel.

Don't think anyone here would argue against your suggestion that he's a great talent but I think most here would agree we have a bigger need up front. With Alzner, Carlson, Green and Orlov on the back end I think the consensus is that we'd simply plug n' play on the last 2 spots where as 2C is an ongoing concern.

I still think / hope MJ90 can fill this void, while he's improved each year he still has a ways to go to be a true 2C.

Of course, because I want a diver on this team.

Girardi

Francesa 05-13-2012 07:46 AM

Brad Richards.

um 05-13-2012 08:05 AM

long term- McDonagh
1 year- Richards

Dr John Carlson 05-13-2012 08:07 AM

Either Richards or McDonagh.

TimeParadox* 05-13-2012 08:10 AM

Martin Gaston Biron.

Acallabeth 05-13-2012 08:19 AM

Aside from Richards or a defenseman, Anisimov. A 6'4 center with great hands who can play in any situation, from PK to PP, from 1st to 4th line, but is most effective as 2C IMO.

fedfed 05-13-2012 08:26 AM

Stepan or Callahan

WetHog 05-13-2012 08:57 AM

Avery.

Oh wait...

pman25 05-13-2012 11:55 AM

They have a lot of players that I want. Callahan, Richards, any of their top 4 dmen. I also like Hagelin, obv not over Richards or several others, but that kid can play good hockey

good pick im a ranger fan and hes very underrated. But Staal is the best Ranger on the team other than Lundy. No question about it.

Hagelin is a great another kid not getting nearly enough credit for helping create scoring chances for Richards and Gaborik. What great about him is its not all speed, he has hands and is not afraid of the corners and rarely if you see ever loses a battle.

One guy i think is something on your team is that Johansson kid. Scary to have him and Backstrom creating plays out of not much.
