He jumped by two guys, drawing a penalty on one. He had opportunities left and right. That’s part of the reason we’re a successful team right now, is that we have everyone going. Different nights, we have players elevate their games. Kinger and Lewie, they work their bag off. Kinger is getting rewarded and Lewie maybe goes a little under the radar. I think he’s been important for us in this series. He does all the dirty work and makes a lot of plays for those two guys.’’ (on tying the game so quickly after Phoenix’s goal…) “I think that’s been maybe a knack for this team, in all the playoffs. Not necessarily the lead. I think we’re really focused on our starts, and getting off to good starts, but we’re getting really big momentum goals. Every series, we’ve gotten a goal within two or three minutes after the other team scores. It’s a two-way swing of momentum. I thought it really started to turn for us in maybe the last 10 minutes of the second.’’ (on the Kings’ strong third period…) “I think we probably didn’t play our best hockey in the first, and we found a way to get it to 1-1 into the third. At that point, we come in here and you’ve got 20 minutes to really put a stranglehold on the series. Again, that comes down to individuals getting themselves ready to go."

We’re going to go back to work tomorrow and get ready for Game 4.” (on already forgetting about Game 3…) “Yeah, for the most part. Obviously you’ve got to enjoy the victory for a few minutes here. That’s why you work so hard, so you can enjoy it a little bit. We know what we have ahead of us. We know (Phoenix) is going to come out hard in Game 4 and we’re going to be ready.” (on looking ahead to Game 4…) “I feel the same as the Vancouver series. We just won a game. That’s all it is. We’re going to move forward and we’re going to get ready for Game 4."

That’s another thing that calms everybody down back there, is when you have a guy play pretty well. With Quickie in net, that always helps. Guys are used to it. Guys have been in these tight, tight games. (on the Kings’ third-period play…) “We can’t sit back, especially against a team like that. They come with a lot of speed, and they had a fair amount of chances in the first. Our key game is to get pucks behind their D and get our forecheck going and grind on teams. That’s what we’ve got to do.’’ (on what improved for the Kings during the game…) “I think just eliminating turnovers. That’s a huge thing for us. They feed off turnovers in the neutral zone. We were giving up some in the first half.’’."

(on the Kings’ forechecking…) “It takes all five guys to make it work. We weren’t that good at it early in the game, and they were. We didn’t get a chance to forecheck early in the game. It’s tough with the goalie, because the moves the puck.’’ (on scoring the tying goal so quickly after Phoenix scored…) “Our top goal scorer scored the goal and made a great play on it.’’ (on being able to do that throughout the playoffs…) “The playoffs are about close games. It’s about being up one, down one. That’s why some games take all night. Somebody ties it up. Somebody scores. That’s real.’’ (on not sitting back in the third period with a lead…) “Well, it’s tough to score only one goal and win. I think we learned that during the regular season. I think we had 10 one-nothing games, one way or the other, so it’s tough to win one-nothing.’’ (on the “animated’’ locker room in the second intermission…) “It wasn’t me that was animated. Between the second and third? It wasn’t me. That’s the players’ room, right? It’s not the coaches’ room.’’ (on Dwight King’s performance…) “Well, it was obviously a big goal tonight. A great play out of the corner. A good with good hands and a little composure there, and he puts it right in the spot that he has to. It’s a huge goal for us.’’ (on the importance of trying to close out the series quickly…) “We get 60 hours of rest before our next game, as long as nobody is in that bike race. They were in San Fran tonight, or wherever they were at, to finish the leg off. I really don’t know what bearing that is going to have on anything. We’ve got to win the game. We’ve still got to win a game, and it might take us another three, five, seven, nine days. So, I don’t think we’re looking too much farther ahead than tomorrow morning in practice.’’ (on dodging the traffic Sunday morning…) “We’ll be here the night before. Won’t have to wade through all the bikes. It would be awesome, actually. That and the basketball after. It will be tough getting out."

Personally, the whole — the game is turning a little dishonest, and it’s embellishment by players. In actual fact, to make it work in your favor, you have to do it more. You have to do it. If everybody else is going to do it, you have to do it too. We saw more than one penalty out there, for us and against us, that were called that I thought were plays that was embellishment … I’m worried about our team."

NOTE : Regarding LARGE SIZE IMAGES / YELLOW RE-SIZE IMAGE BARS ABOVE PICS, let me offer up one nice little suggestion ...
This will get rid of those pesky yellow resize bars over the top of some larger pictures ... as they annoy the hell out of me and maybe they do you also ?
- Go into/click on your "USER CP" {control Panel} up top left in the red bars
- on the left under 'Settings & Options' click on "Edit Options"
- scroll down to 'Thread Display Options', and then 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- click on the 'Drop Down List Box' over on the Right of 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- select it to "KEEP ORIGINAL SIZE"
- SAVE your selections !
There ... now don't that look MUCH BETTER

Clippers and Lakers stinking up Staples. The conversion crew should air out the fail before the Kings play tomorrow.

Just win baby.

I'm a Jacket fan rooting for you guys in the Western finals... Over and above team trades or failed clocks I'm looking at this series as an NHL fan.

You started the cup run several weeks before the season ended and have put up record numbers ever since.. Come on, one loss in three NHL playoff series...! Just a passing note so not to jinx, an 8th seed to boot!

You have a great roster and with Quick you guys will be in the cup series; once there though, Torts will make ya earn it.

Good luck today, if you win this series (which you will) I think you have a 60% chance of winning the CUP!. Can't wait for the game to start, I love those hand shakes. ;)

If they lose, the Yotes have to paddle home on Tippett's river of tears.
