Hasek to Chicago?

http://www.vancouversun.com/sports/D...786/story.html

We can dream right?

DisgruntledHawkFan 05-25-2012 08:09 PM

What is he 47? Are we bringing him on as a goalie coach?

MurrayBannerman 05-25-2012 08:16 PM

It'd be fun!

Apparently he wants to play another season. Sounds like he has expressed his interest to a club, that is currently being kept a secret.

Blackhawkswincup 05-25-2012 08:20 PM

His last tour in NHL showed he doesn't have it anymore

No one will give him a contract ,, He might get an tryout from a team but doubtful a team will bring him over

Rexy 05-25-2012 08:53 PM

I'm sorry, is it 1989?

Can we bring back Eddie too?

he lost a starting job to Chris ****ing Osgood!

MurrayBannerman 05-25-2012 09:00 PM

Well, I'll give him one thing. I'd rather have him in the Rock than Carter Hutton.

why? Because Hutton earned that spot by playing amazing and stealing the job from Salak?

Because at least there's a slight possibility that Hasek could earn a spot in the NHL.

ndgt10 05-25-2012 09:19 PM

Tampa, Buffalo, or Detroit is his lust.

he lost his starting job in the NHL 5 years ago. He's going to be in better form now?

This isn't 1999 Dominik Hasek. This is 2012.

:dunno: Saw Eddie last year in Grand Forks. Looks old and fat, but look what Brodeur is doing.

SugarKane88 05-25-2012 10:09 PM

No thanks.

Cullksinikers 05-25-2012 10:31 PM

As much as Emery blows at times (most of the time), there's no way in hell this guy would do better. No. Should have just hung onto him before.

No Fun Shogun 05-26-2012 12:11 AM

Best of luck to him, but no thanks.

AmericanDream 05-26-2012 12:14 AM

sorry guys, I would give the guy a chance to play again, just to see him flop all over the ice and tear a groin....

I think Hasek probably could still play 15-20 NHL games, but I would hate to be the team that inks him only to lose him second game of the preseason to a shattered groin

Why would we want the Jamie Moyer of hockey (age only, not talent)? Signing a 47 year old Hasek means one of two things to me and that: 1. The Hawks are lazy at figuring out what they want to do at Goalie or 2. FA Goalie is in pretty bad shape.

Either way, no thank you.

Hasek looked great. Also looked small in those pads (upper body included). Great color combo too, and I've always preferred the Hawks in home whites.

At 2:47 you can see perhaps one of the earliest examples of his back flop.

Yep...I miss the home whites too.

Bubba88 05-26-2012 10:01 AM

I would like it. Always dreamed about this. Give him a tryout, nothing more

Tone King 05-28-2012 09:59 AM

Hellz no! If we would, Emery and Hasek could save $ buying Depends in bulk.

Emery isn't even thirty.
