If you could steal one player off the Devils roster who would it be and why?

We did this for the other series, so here it goes.... ( could someone post the reverse of this question on the Devils board, im not allowed on their board)

My answer Parise. He'd fit this team well IMO, add some scoring.

bogans 05-30-2012 07:49 AM

Kovy, fixes the power play. Would take a ton of pressure off of Gabby, its precisely what this team needs. Who cares if Parise is a Torts type of player? He is redundant in this lineup. Yes, he is more talented than Cally, but not by leaps and bounds, his points come off the same kind of hard work as Callahan's points.

AINEC.

Either Kovalchuk or Parise, disregarding contracts.

free0717 05-30-2012 08:05 AM

Short term: Parise

Long Term: Adam Larson

SnowblindNYR 05-30-2012 08:14 AM

Easily Kovy. We need a game breaker. Parise is not one.

This post. Been saying the same thing about Parise, which is why I don't want him here.

DutchShamrock 05-30-2012 08:28 AM

Ryan Carter, because once he's a Ranger, they'll finally start calling the dives and cheap hits.

NYRangers09 05-30-2012 08:47 AM

Kovalchuk. Hate him with a passion...wish he was a Ranger. EXACTLY THE PIECE THAT THIS TEAM IS MISSING

Kreider Typical 05-30-2012 09:11 AM

kov's easy. one of the few true snipers in the league. not afraid to play gritty. good on every part of his game. we lack a player like him. parise doesn't come close to kovi's threat level

Killem Dafoe 05-30-2012 09:24 AM

Kovalchuk.

Miamipuck 05-30-2012 09:25 AM

Brodeur, so I can send him down to CT to room with Avery.

I change my vote to this.

Wouldnt touch Kovalchuk, Parise all the way.

HeaveHo94 05-30-2012 10:03 AM

Marrrr-teeeeeee

I would LOVE to go back to the SIGN KOVALCHUK threads i started back in the day, or the TRADE FOR KOVALCHUK threads back in the day and see what some of you said then. I took a big time beating from a ton of people, especially Rangerboy (who i still consider to be one of if not the most knowledgeable posters on here) about him.

Ilya Kovalchuk, the guy we SHOULD have signed.

why...?

Tundra 05-30-2012 10:16 AM

Zubrus could help the rangers alot in terms of their board play. Even at his age, he's still a manbeast. Zubrus is the type of 2nd and 3rd line winger that wins organization cups.

CM Lundqvist 05-30-2012 10:23 AM

Kovalchuk or Parise, and Zubrus.

Hate Zubrus, but he'd be effective for us, and I wanted Kovalchuk. He was the guy we should have gotten over Gaborik. I called for him back then as well.

Swept In Seven 05-30-2012 10:34 AM

Obviously Kovalchuk or Parise.

Lundsanity30 05-30-2012 10:35 AM

Kovalchuk obviously.

IMO if the Rangers had Kovy they win the cup, Zubrus, eh.

But then you have to take that contract. ;) Contract is fine for the next 5-6 years. Then it gets crazy.

Machinehead 05-30-2012 11:42 AM

Kovalchuk AINEC. C'mon.

DutchShamrock 05-30-2012 11:44 AM

If Gaborik and Richards performed in the series, does the need for Kovalchuk really appear? What if you have Kovalchuk and he gets shut down? Don't you look like an absolute clown then? We weren't a Kovalchuk away from a cup, we were a Richards and Gaborik away from a cup.

We can go back and look at old threads, sure, I remember saying we should get Jeff Carter. Guess that makes me a genius too.
