Bob Miller and Jim Fox WILL CALL game 4! (6/5)

http://www.latimes.com/sports/sports...r&dlvrit=53285

"The Kings have spoken. Rest easy, Kings fans. If the Kings reach a Stanley Cup-clinching game, you will be able to hear Bob Miller call it. Just not live.

Miller and color man Jim Fox will record the game, which will be available (online) at a later date for Kings fans to listen to."

From what I understand, they'll call the game "live to tape", so you'll get their natural reactions - it'll be available shortly after the game.

I just got chills. Please Kings, make this happen.

Telos 05-31-2012 11:17 PM

Fantastic. This is all I wanted. I have no concerns anymore, just focusing on the cup. Get it done Kings!

DoktorJeep 05-31-2012 11:40 PM

Great, hopefully FSW has their act together and finds a way to show Kings Live somewhat soon after a Cup clinching you know what.

The Butcher 06-01-2012 12:03 AM

I wonder if they will get a little more off the cuff, I'd imagine it'd feel a little different not being live.

I know quite alot of fans that wrote in, myself included. I gotta say, pretty classy move. Bravo Kings.

Right now, it's still possible.

KingsCorona 06-01-2012 08:43 AM

This is so goddamm awesome. This is the next best thing to being able to hear them call it live. I will be all over this recording!

kingsfan28 06-02-2012 07:07 PM

I hope Bob is wrong, but today during the pre-game show on the nhl network he said while the Kings are still looking into it, it doesnt look like it will happen.

Ya know, if this DOESN'T happen it will be for the same reasons why fans usually get screwed:

Greed and money.

At this point it's nothing more than a pissing match between two billionaires that could care less about doing the right thing for Bob Miller and the rest of the Kings fans. The only thing that really matters anymore is the bottom line. It's a disgrace.

Doc isn't my favorite broadcaster but it's not his fault that you can hear the dissapointment in his nasally voice. He called the Devils for years and has a clear loyalty to them and same with Strader. Again, it's not his fault but it's just really screwed up that we've seen some of the biggest plays in Kings history called by the home broadcaster of the OTHER TEAM.

As you alluded to, Emrick has been employed exclusively by NBC for 2 seasons now at least. He's not a Devils broadcaster any longer. He sounds plenty excited for Kings calls (I really dont want him to be more excited honestly... He's over the top as it is.) Emrick is more enthused with his calls when it's the home team that scores vs. the road team. I have no doubt he will be plenty excited for Kings goals at Staples.
