Gaunce, don't even need to have a poll, can guarantee he will be the guy everyone votes for.

IkeaMonkey* 06-04-2012 05:46 PM

I'll cry.

Carlzner 06-04-2012 05:57 PM

Gaunce or Lindholm........

I don't know.

Liberati0n* 06-04-2012 06:18 PM

Gaunce, but if it played out this way I would prefer for Maata to get to 16.

SimplySensational 06-04-2012 06:24 PM

Who voted for Vasilevski?

californiacapsfan 06-04-2012 06:29 PM

Noteworthy: the latest ISS rankings have Gaunce at 11 and Faksa at 16.

Galchenyuk at 14.

If GMGM passes Galchenyuk at 11, I'll ****ing cry.

Its also got Vasilevski ranked 3rd among goalies.

Atlas 06-04-2012 07:28 PM

Lindholm.

SimplySensational 06-04-2012 07:32 PM

Could someone explain Lindholm to me, none of you guys have mentioned the guys name in any of the Draft Watch topic, now everyone is talking about him.

I've mentioned him a bunch in the Draft Watch topic.

Then what makes him a first rounder?

Dr John Carlson 06-04-2012 07:37 PM

I don't know, if we took Faksa at 11 I don't think we should take another center unless Faksa converts to wing...I voted Lindholm.

He's a late riser, has been a solid dman for Rogle BK in the SEL.
Has 17 points in 28 games... very good for an 18 year old dman in the SEL.

Has great speed.

Capitlols 06-04-2012 08:07 PM

Gaunce, but I'm warming to the idea of my new man-crush Thrower.

usiel 06-04-2012 08:14 PM

Really tough one for me between Gaunce and Lindholm. Would be fine going in with two potential centers but at the last moment went with the swede dman for some draft balance. From what I've read a great skater and this is becoming even more of a premium in the NHL the farther we get from the lock out.

Much easier to convert a center to a winger than the other way around.

Really interested in researching some of these prospects. What are some good sites to see mock drafts and prospect information?

Probably posted earlier in this thread somewhere but I enjoy the write ups at the below site. They are up to the 50s prospect wise but here is the beginning.

Appreciate it.

How about a Czeck-themed draft of Faksa and Hertl.

GMGM seems to have draft themes, was Russians then Swedes then back to Russians.

Just not those Finns. I think McPhee only drafts them by accident and then trades them when he realizes his mistake ;)

Also, is Lindholm looking to come over to North America next season? It seems to me that Hershey's D is fairly crowded, so if we go defense with one of the first rounders it might make sense to pick someone who can play against good competition elsewhere.

PocketNines 06-05-2012 01:14 AM

Randomly curious. Don't mean to hijack the thread but just interested in the temperature of replies since you're assessing the value of the 16th pick in this thread. If Semin leaves in free agency and there was a deal of the 16th for Chris Stewart would you take it? No question, Stewart had a down year. But a lot of that is getting no PP time and playing in a Hitchcock system where he was clearly not comfortable. Tarasenko's arrival forces a numbers game on the wings. Confident the Blues would rather hold onto Stewart (and put Schwartz in the AHL until an injury occurs) if they can't get at least a first round pick so it's not a firesale situation. No doubt the 16th player should be solid, but part of this is tempo – that player takes 2-4 years to show up and produce (in general). Stewart is an NHL quality player that you'd add immediately. And you already have the 11th pick.

Raikkonen 06-05-2012 01:25 AM

Voted for Hertl. Who knows if he will be better or worse than Faksa.

Do not believe in Laich-like Gaunce.
