The Checkers go into their Christmas break with a record of 16-9-2 after beating the Mississippi SeaWolves last night to finish up their 8 game roadtrip. Charlotte is 1st in the East Division, and only the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies have a better record in the ECHL.
Although the Checkers use the Renney system, they play a very different game than the WolfPack as the score (2nd GF in the ECHL) and give up a lot of goals. However, between callups and injuries, the Checkers have had to make do with a patchwork roster.
On the current injury list: Cullen, Dawe, Preston, Egeland
On leave until X-Mas: Lang, Guard (family), Belanger (Team Canada in Spengler Cup)
Rangers/Pack Signees Update:
NAME GP G A PTS +/-
Jamieson 18 9 8 17 3
Falardeau 23 10 4 14 1 (Tied for lead in Goals)
Rawlyk 27 4 8 12 6
Cuthbert 17 4 7 11 -1
Glenn 24 2 9 11 4
Stals 19 5 4 9 -1
Cullen 13 2 3 5 -3
Wirll 11 1 4 5 -5
MacIntyre 24 0 0 0 -6 (93 PIM)
The most recent pickup for the Checkers is FW Aaron Smith. D Paul Lynch is another recent pickup from a trade with Johnstown. Otherwise Coach Wilkinson has had to make do with calling up Mike Wirll from Jacksonville and filling in the roster with borrowed players from SPHL teams and local retired players. They've often played with a less than full roster on the road trip.
thanks for the update bmoak
It's nice to see Falardeau put up some kind of numbers, even if it is just in the ECHL
Jesus, Stals can't even score in the ECHL.
