Los Angeles Kings jersey on NHL.com

I guess some Kings fan could explain, but this isn't what the Kings wear. Yet its labeled as NHL.com's Kings Stanley Cup Final Jerseys?

It's just a cheap crappy jersey. It isn't labeled "Premier", which is what Reebok calls its normal replicas that look like the real thing. Its just a more 'economy' jersey, so to speak.

It's like the equivalent of those 'Wal-Mart' NFL jerseys that have a logo on the sleeves instead of having stripes like the real ones.

Those look nothing a like, the names not even the same!:sarcasm:

Zombotron 06-06-2012 12:59 AM

We had the same deal last year.

I guess they're cheap "introductory" jerseys for bandwagon fans acquired in the wake of a Finals run. :dunno:

Jack Bourdain 06-06-2012 01:28 AM

TBH I find it funny when people call 100$ jerseys "cheap"... It's the other ones that are overpriced.

It is a great way to spot a bandwagoner.

Honestly, no idea why they decide to design a new jersey instead of selling the actual one with a Final patch on it.

They do that as well.

But if this jersey is $99.99 and a Premier is $165.99 after customization, there's sure some people who are going to go with the cheapest one and not care about a few stripes being different.

Sirquacksalot 06-06-2012 02:19 AM

It's simply a way to tell bandwagoners apart.

*insert grain of salt here* From what I've heard, the "cheap" jersey doesn't have sewed-on crests; they're similar to what you'd find on a normal t-shirt.

I was going to buy one when they went on clearance for half price for street hockey, but when I heard on Canucks.com that they were of very poor quality, I opted not to spend the money.

Just a way to make more $$$.

Adama0905 06-06-2012 09:15 AM

The funny thing is some of these jerseys are nicer than the real ones.

So true, the Flyers and Kings ones posted are better looking than the game worn ones.

Oh good, we've reached the point in the thread where we quantify how much of a "real" and "true" fan we are by the amount of money we spend.

I guess all the people in Toronto who can't afford Leafs tickets aren't poor, they're just crappy fans.

I don't understand this. What exactly about these jerseys makes them cheap? Surely it's the construction and fabric used correct? If that's the case, why not just make cheaply constructed replica jerseys? I don't get it.

Avalanche version spotted at: 0:35, top of the screen.

But the things in this thread are just terrible. Why bother with something that terrible, even if normal jerseys (even the cheaper ones) are absurd prices?

Vamos Rafa 11-07-2012 10:48 AM

Why are the stripes at the end of the sleeves? So that Reebok can make you think twice? "Hmmm, the stripes should be where the elbows are. I don't want my jersey to look really fake so I'll go for the more expensive Premier jersey!"

The Flyers one is horrible. Especially compared to the home orange jerseys.

All of these "cheap" jerseys I've seen so far are terrible compared to their real counterparts.

I personally feel that if you're going to blow a substantial wad of money on something as trivial as a jersey, you may as well spend the extra money and get a legit one.

I personally feel that since my paycheck has my name on it, you let me decide how much of it I want to blow on a jersey.

I'm not going to eat cat food so I can impress strangers with my hockey jersey.

Exactly this.

If they made a cheap jersey for $99 that looked like it should, they would lose Premier sales. So they make their cheaper jersey look worse.

Kenny Powders 11-07-2012 11:27 AM

I'm sure Half the people here got their jerseys at Christmas or Birthday...
