IF we get new uniforms - What would you like them to look like?
 

I love our current logo but our uniforms have been very dull to me.. I definitely think we need to add some black and sand accents plus I love the old logo, and know this logo was used on a few Zephyr hats in the past.

I've said it before, I don't want new uniforms and especially not a new logo. Not because I think we have the best logo ever, but because we need it to have recognition. I know a lot of people are desperately bored on our bland design, but having another makeover is the last thing this team needs. I'm finally going around and when I have a Coyotes shirt on, or something with the logo.. random people are making mention of it. THAT is what we need, brand recognition, and some people here wanna mess with that just for purely aesthetic reasons.

I am not a fan of the 3rd jersey so I wouldn't mind that one getting an upgrade. Other than taking the PHX out of the Arizona patch, I am not sure we will see a major upgrade this year. Cant wait to buy an Arizona Coyotes t-shirt though.

I'm fine with the current color scheme but the logo is dreck. Worst in the league. How would a makeover hurt, exactly?

If we're looking long term, branding is one element of marketing, and I'd argue it's the most important. The logo is a big part of that. Starting from scratch re: recognition might be a setback, but it'll be offset in the long run, and probably pretty quickly. Win a playoff round or two in new uniforms and toss up a few billboards with the logo on it, and all of a sudden anybody who might care will know what's what. There are lots of things more important than "tradition" or recognition of whatever.

Always thought the old kachina style log was pretty cool. Why not bring it back? Why exactly did we dump it?

I loved it and always will, but it was polarizing to say the least.

I want a happy medium. Something somewhat southwestern but in a subtle way, not a club you over the head with a cactus kind of way, like the original kachina peyote nightmare, but not so sterile and generic as the current dentist office, vanilla kit.

I like that the original logo had a little face paint and a couple of feathers. I like the new set because it's simple. Can't we have something that's not busy but not plain? Something that hints at the southwest without looking like cheeseball tourist trash?

I believe new arena= new unis. I like the old ones too and feel like the new one is a "red wing" wanna be color scheme. The players, however, hated the collars on the old ones b/c it rubbed their necks, or so I am told.

What I liked about the old one was just how far beyond the touristy Kachina stuff I thought it went. It was extreme, but not in the cheesy way you'd expect a mid-'90s "extreme" logo to be. It was jarring and abrasive, which is what you want your hockey team to be.

But I realize not everyone likes things so jarring and abrasive. I also listen to Metal Machine Music regularly, unironically, and while completely sober. So I'm willing to concede I'm in the minority. But I do think a logo for a hockey team called the Coyotes needs some, well, teeth.

I like the color scheme and I do not support purple, at all. My main issue is that we try to be two tone,but actually have four colors. Brick, Sand, Black and White, yet we only try to use Brick and White in the uniforms. It looks unfinished. Also, the lettering is pretty generic. I think the letters and numbers would be a quick and easy way to cleanly tip the hat at the southwest without going over the top.

Imagine the Color scheme from the top set, with the numbers from the bottom set, and lets think of a logo that's not so cartoony and awful as the bottom one, but still shows a little more southwest flair than the one we have now that could just as easily be the Kansas Coyotes or the Kitchener Coyotes.

As far as logos go, maybe something at least inspired by Hopi artwork of Coyotes...

Please pretend I didn't butcher these perfectly good mock ups and imagine the uniforms are the exact same, except the numbers and letters look like the ones I pasted in and pretend the logo actually looks clean and is the correct size.

I think they'd be great like these. Unique but not over the top.

I have given my feelings about uniforms of any kind in any time frame in the past. I'll wait until the team is going to get a new uniform change to give my thoughts. In the meantime the uniforms we have are fine for now. :deadhorse

I would like to see the third change. Keep it black. Put on the bias the word "Arizona" ala the NYR's sweaters, or Colorado's third. But heck, I'm very traditional.

Count me in on those Black, Red, Sand jerseys they look really nice. I'm not sure we go back to the old Kachina head logo but the rest of it I really like. If anything, keep/use the moon logo as I've always liked that.

After looking at some of the pictures in RT's post, I don't get how we ended up with such lame jerseys. There is a lot to work with out there. Our jerseys could be badass if they spent some time working on them.

Short answer is Gretzky is bad at more than just coaching.

And we have Todd McFarlane, whose store is in Westgate, that could could help with design. The fact is we went from jerseys that were probably too far over the top to as bland as possible. Time to spice it up!

I'm sorry but i am a huge fan of our current jerseys. I think the more simple the better.

ditto the idea of Todd McFarlane designing new uniforms for the Yotes. I remember the logo he made for the Cardinals that was really bold. I would love to see a picture of this rejected Cardinals logo if anyone can find it.

so I am guessing he never designed the logo ? What year did we change from the old uniforms , 2006 ?
