Goldwater scheduled a court hearing for today to challenge Glendale's recent vote:

http://www.superiorcourt.maricopa.go...caseSearch.asp
Put in the case # - CV2009-020757

We'll find out something more definitive in a few hours in all likelihood, even if it's just to set out a future time table for additional court dates.

Call me crazy, but I'm predicting a cutoff date of at least 6/22, if not a day or two sooner, for this all to be decided. I just, for the life of me, don't see this being allowed to drag on past the draft, and I don't think that the NHL is going to want to be still owning the team when that day arrives.

so are the coyotes most likely staying in phoenix or what?

MagicSlap* 06-12-2012 11:14 AM

At this point it's impossible to tell.

It's pretty amazing when you consider that the Kings and the Penguins gave up the same number of goals in the playoffs...30.

That's pretty funny

Kings & Devils were ranked 29th & 30th in shots blocked during the RS

interesting and just proves that this stat is overrated as is faceoff percantage. You don't need to win more faceoffs, you need to win the important ones.

Hey Blackhawks fans, a friend was cleaning out his Grandfather's estate and he gave me some old Sports Illustrateds. I have two 1/31/66 issues which feature Stan Mikita on the cover. I'm a Flyers fan so they're of no use to me, so if any two Hawk fans would like one, they're yours. Just send me a self addressed stamped envelope (magazine is standard size and contains 60 pages and are in good condition). I guess just be the first two to pm me.

Phoenix has at least one more season in Phoenix, right? I haven't followed the situation too closely, but I don't think they have another city and stadium to move into time, but could be entirely wrong.

Quebec City, though how ready they are depends on who you ask.

To Nords fans, they're ready on a few weeks notice, as they just need to make the old Colisee Pepsi NHL-ready again are a few modifications that are already funded and shouldn't take too long. Plus, they have the new arena planned, funded, and almost ready to begin construction, so it'd only be a temp venue for a few years anyway.

To doubters though, the renovations to the Colisee are more than one would expect to get finished than in a single offseason, and the more time that passes the less of a chance they really have.

Me personally.... I'm more inclined to agree with QCers, though it would be a bit of a rush to get everything ready in time for the preseason.

Thanks for the reply... Any idea when they start the scheduling process?

Next year's schedule is supposed to be released on the 21st, I believe.

UsernameWasTaken 06-13-2012 12:47 PM

Hopefully we don't get stuck with 9 consecutive away games again.

The circus roadtrip is long enough.

Released or they start working on it then? I could have sworn they released last years schedule in like August...

RayP 06-13-2012 12:59 PM

Never mind, I'm getting that mixed up with when single game tickets went on sale. Just looked it up and last years schedule was released June 23th.

No, it's supposed to be next week I think.

The Blackhawks haven't released their pre-season schedule yet, but from the Pens pre-season schedule, we're playing them twice.

IU Hawks fan 06-13-2012 01:28 PM

They always release it the day before the draft, from what I remember.

UsernameWasTaken 06-13-2012 02:40 PM

Lou Lamoriello decided to keep NJ's draft pick this year...so I guess they'll forfeit next year's??? I don't really get it...if they're picking second last in the first round, i would have thought this was the one they'd give up. maybe they plan on picking subban or something :dunno:

IU Hawks fan 06-13-2012 02:47 PM

I guess they figure it's better to draft guys sooner and start developing them than wait til later. Really, the difference between 29th and around 20th is pretty negligible.

Bubba88 06-13-2012 02:47 PM

Tampa won't take a goalie with a 1st, they will go on one in the 2nd Round IMO
Devils will take their next goalie this year with maybe the best goalie of this year still available

You're assuming Parise is a lock to resign. If he leaves, they won't be in the playoffs and will lose a really good pick.
