Selänne back for another season!

http://www.mtv3.fi/urheilu/jaakiekko...amassa-uraansa

The article says that Selänne has already decided to play another season and that basically only a serious injury would make him change his mind

GO TEEMU!

Quack 06-19-2012 02:59 AM

Welcome back!

If true, I like this decision. More Selanne > less Selanne.

jonlin 06-19-2012 03:01 AM

It has no source whatsoever...:help:

It is the same as every year. The article says he`ll probably sign a 1-yr contract late july-august...

Haite 06-19-2012 03:02 AM

What about a lock-out? :sarcasm:

Glad that he continues, great player and a human being.

Pay Carl 06-19-2012 03:03 AM

yayyy... hopefully the Ducks play a game on the Island this year so I can see him play before he retires

"Lehden mukaan Selänteen päätös on niin varma, että vain vakava loukkaantuminen romuttaisi suunnitelman."

That says according to the paper, selänne's decision is so certain that only a serious injury would change his plans.. by paper it is referring to Veikkaaja which is the source

All have the same source: VEIKKAAJA

There is NOT a single thing pointing that this is coming from Selanne! Selanne has always said that he will make his decision when its time for it. Atm he is busy having his annual hockeyschool in Finland and hasnt said a damn thing about next season. If a random writer at a random magazine says something, without giving up a source like Selanne, his wife or agent, I will NOT take it for granted.

Everyone knows he will probably continue playing next season on a 1yr contract, but until he makes it public - Its only rumors...

InjuredChoker 06-19-2012 04:17 AM

Yes, yes but the big question is, where does he sign?

Question of the year.

1:100 odds to the ducks. Anyone wanna bet?

I don't think people realize that Teemu is probably the biggest homer in our fan base.

Well perhaps that's why the title says "rumor".. and for whatever its worth the reporter who started the rumor talked with Selänne at his camp

Yeah but this year we got better hints coming out of the gate

1.) Teemu wants to come back but needs to get clearance from his doctor (knee)
2.) According to Bob Murray, Teemu is already training for a new season.

I'm gonna rage if there's a lockout.

If the NHL and the NHLPA can't agree on a new CBA, they should all lose their jobs. This is the worst time to go on a lockout, with attendances down and ratings low.

I think both respective parties understand what is at hand and what they can't afford which is another lockout season. The last one took hockey straight off the map and killed the fanbase hard, another one would be devastating. Back on topic though, congratulations to selanne if the rumors are true! :handclap:

rajuabju 06-19-2012 08:45 AM

amazing. I hate the Ducks, but Selanne is truly something special.

StuckOutHere 06-19-2012 08:48 AM

I would like to know how long he could last at his current output. If he retired a broken shell of a man at like 45 how many points do you think he'd have? 1600 pts?

MasterDecoy 06-19-2012 08:49 AM

like that guy said:

more selanne > less selanne

MadDog172430 06-19-2012 08:54 AM

Teemu is a gem of a hockey player. Here's to hoping he never retires!

GRoberts07 06-19-2012 08:54 AM

Selanne is my non-Maple Leaf ever. If this is true, I'm glad that he's back for another season.

EarlGrey 06-19-2012 10:00 AM

Teemu's value (imo) goes way beyong what he does on the ice. If I am not mistaken he lead the Ducks in points last year...now you can imagine how important he is to the fanbase. Him returning for another year is huge and the sole reason why I will hop on a plane at Vienna Int. Airport next spring and fly to Anaheim. :yo:
