He stuck through multiple coach firings, so somebody must have seen something in him they liked.

Didn't get to see a lot of Evason.

It was always Woods or Johnson doing interviews.

My opinion is that he knows how to get the great offensive transition game and good defensive game from the Caps major changes of the last few years.

I saw the news on the washington post and instantly envisioned multiple posters here popping open champagne bottles.

I mean all joking aside, I think he'll be a good head coach. I just really didn't want him to be the head coach of the Washington Capitals.

Basically this. Don't dislike the guy, just really glad he's not the Caps HC.

We will never forget he helped us get a shortie once.

Joking aside, he obviously had no future here (George said he doesnt like to hire assistants) so good for him, he was smart to leave. Heck, we didn't even have him in our vast coaching candidate list.
