Crazy new Sports bar coming to ByWard Market from MLSE?

It looks insanely cool. It'll be good for the market.

FolignoQuantumLeap 06-19-2012 10:49 PM

If its owned and operated by MLSE I will not support that bar. Senz 4 lyfe (I'm 100% serious)

Niv 06-19-2012 10:51 PM

MLSE? As long as they don't show Leafs games over Sens games. Also, it should look great next to Giant Tiger :sarcasm:

CanadianHockey 06-19-2012 10:53 PM

I'll stick to the Elgin Street/Sens Mile pubs.

saskriders 06-19-2012 11:01 PM

Hopefully it shows Sens and Rough Riders (they will lose though :p:) games as apposed to Leafs and Raptors games

Icelevel 06-19-2012 11:13 PM

Will never go there.

Buckleys 06-19-2012 11:15 PM

I loved Real Sports bar when I lived in Toronto. I will for sure be there every once in a while, this is great stuff.

bigfatfist 06-19-2012 11:55 PM

Too bad the Sens group didn't get to something like this first! I'm sure I'll try it out, but it'd have to be mind-blowing to overcome the thought of my dollars helping the Leafs.

Can't wait to try Big Rig!

MLSE is a separate entity from the Maple Leafs. If i go there, i will not feel like i am giving my money to the enemy. Should i cancel my bell and/or rogers plans now too?

If it's a good place to watch the game and entertain myself, I dont care who owns it. It's not like the maple leafs budget of infinity will change based on ottawa earned Real Sports dollars.

Ahhh, I wanted to make a sports bar like that when I was older.

I appreciate their hiring practices as well. Always a great place to go and eat a good meal and get a good eyeful.

Macca 06-20-2012 06:19 AM

MLSE is incapable of running a successful sports franchise in terms of wins vs losses. What they can do, though, is make money. However, I wouldn't walk into a bar owned by anything associated with MLSE if they served me free beer!

littleD 06-20-2012 06:55 AM

Umm, hell yes.

Lol all the "zomg hate MLSE" crowd. A proper sports bar in Ottawa, we've been waiting for one for how long?

H2O 06-20-2012 07:09 AM

Been to the one in Winnipeg. It's amazing. This is really awesome, Ottawa needs a real sports bar.

Brandi 06-20-2012 07:25 AM

Really looking forward to this. You don't have to fight for a seat to see a TV. Love it.

It looks like it'll be a mix of both a bar\club, which will be great for business.

Agree! We have a ton of small -> medium sports bars, but nothing amazing. We need to up the anty on some of the attractions in this area for sure.

Zorf 06-20-2012 07:57 AM

Was really hoping we'd get a bar like Flames Central.

Depends. Will they foolishly show Toronto based sports games or will they respect our city and our teams and show Ottawa based sports? If they don't then hell, may the junkies run them out of the market.

Mlse is not stupid they not going to open a bar that won't do well.

Alfie#11 06-20-2012 10:25 AM

I first went to the one at Maple Leaf Square for a business function and loved it. I've gone back a lot.

Yes it's MLSE. It's also a really cool experience. I hope it doesnt kill off the smaller bars but it's miles ahead of places like Local Heros. Being in Ottawa, it will have a Sens focus I'm sure.

The size will make it great for playoff hockey. Definitely could become a go-to place for young professionals. I've found it's a great place to meet people in Toronto.

Icelevel 06-20-2012 10:36 AM

Exactly^
maple leaf sports and entertainment is going to open a huge bar downtown, take biusiness away from already established local bars and you guys are excited?

Where am i?
