NHL Schedule Released: Kings open against NY Rangers October 12th

Kings open against the Rangers on Friday, October 12th and will raise their banner. Then they go on the road to Calgary and Edmonton.

They have 4 5-game trips this season (tied for the longest).

They have a 6-game home stand in January (longest).

Looks like 12 back-to-back games.

Those Phoenix games are going to be intense, we are marked men now.

That stretch of 11 out of 13 on the road in Jan/Feb looks like fun!

That's the Grammy trip, it happens every season. Kings are used to it.

Could put together a lot of wins early on with that start.

This time, they host Anaheim for the last absolute game of the season (start time the latest).

Interesting that they get Colorado twice in the last week of the season, they really cleaned our clock last season, but things do change from year to year.

I'm good with long stretches on the road...the Kings really proved during the last two seasons that they are an outstanding road team, and the ridiculous playoff run on the road only confirmed how good they can be.

Really wanted Vancouver or San Jose for that opener.

One would think so. EDM (2), CBJ (2) and NYI in those first 15 games. However, we know how this team has faired in games they "should win", hopefully Sutter changes that.

Hopefully there is no labour dispute and the banner can be raised on Oct 12.

Looks like the league is okay with owning the Yotes for another season seeing as they are on the schedule.

Looks like I'll be in Buffalo on Feb 5 to see the Kings seeing as they are not in T.O. this year.

Last time the Kings opened the regular season against the NY Rangers, they won the Stanley Cup. :D

During last two months of the season the Kings have a two day break between games only five times and 4 back to back games.

I assume the schedules were already made before the end of the SCF? Really wish the opener was against a big rival.

Is this the first time we've both opened and closed the season at home?

If only the home opener was pushed one day forward. I knew they wouldn't have it on a Saturday night. However, you can bet I will be in Edmonton for the game on October 16th and February 19th.

Game 1 was a "home" game and game 6 of the SCF was at home. :D

Very similar schedule from last season. At least for my key dates. Open verse the Rangers. Mid december game in Boston. Long home stand in
january (my annual kings trip) and games in the NYC area in february.

Well...It worked out last season. Let's do it again!! Kinda bummed about opening verse the Rangers. Very good chance I'll be stuck with the Rangers feed and miss the banner raising ceremony:(
