Why would games be a better indicator than minutes?

I guess it depends on how you interpret 'season'.

I'm not sure what any of this has to do with the contention that he has no problem scoring without Getzlaf.

"Rick Nash>19yo Eric Lindros" - Scott Howson

Barbara Underhill 06-21-2012 01:48 PM

Howson lol.

@SportsnetSpec: Howson: "No hurry to trade Nash." Admits, if not dealt by mid-July, likely coming back. He won't be rushed.

@SportsnetSpec: Bobby Ryan's availability from Anaheim won't help CBJ to deal Nash. A less expensive option.

LordsCup* 06-21-2012 01:48 PM

It got lost in the last thread, but Nash's Agent requested a face to face meeting with Howson today. Wonder how that will go....

Bob Richards 06-21-2012 01:48 PM

Boooo. Lame title is lame. Just like Howson's demands.

You don't see what his ice-time with Getzlaf has to do with that?

AJRanger 06-21-2012 01:50 PM

I really hope Sather's given up on that clown Howson by now. Try for Ryan and explore other options.

Barbara Underhill 06-21-2012 01:51 PM

I find it funny Howson finally found his balls, a little late in his tenure for that. His last move will be totally screwing this Nash trade up.

RGY 06-21-2012 01:52 PM

Change the title.

Yeah, move onto ryan. Look at other options like semin. Hope Nash holds out just so we can laugh at howson.

egelband 06-21-2012 01:52 PM

i am pretty sure this guy will be out of a job soon. he backed himself into a corner. then the rangers offered him a lifeline. then he spit on the lifeline and told sather to piss up a rope. now, here he is with an overpriced, angry asset. awful management. he assumed he was the smartest guy in the room. well, we'll see.

Title: "Ricky Bobby edition"

The Dark Passenger 06-21-2012 01:54 PM

I can see it now. Nash isn't traded, doesn't report to camp. Contract is terminated (due to not showing up to camp), Nash becomes a FA and signs a deal with us. So we end up with Nash for no assets. That would be hilarious (although I'm not sure that's how it works).

Jim Morrison 06-21-2012 01:55 PM

Howson won't get squat. Nobody will pay the price he's asking for a player that wants out. And if Nash stays, nothing will change for that franchise plus you've got an very unhappy superstar who'll tuck away the heart on his sleeve while donning the Blue Jackets' jersey. If he won't sit out, that is.

Honestly, he just have to accept a lesser price, because in the end, that franchise badly needs a rebuild. Trading Nash (who asked for a trade, mind you) is the first step towards that.

If that was how it worked players would just not show up to camp all the time to become FA's lol. The player under contract has his rights tied to his team until his team trades him or puts him on waivers with someone picking him up.

Barbara Underhill 06-21-2012 01:57 PM

I'm still laughing at the fact that he considers Bobby Ryan a cheaper alternative for teams, cheaper as far as cap hit goes sure. Trade value is higher.

KingWantsCup 06-21-2012 01:59 PM

My ideal trade package is Dubinsky, Miller, Thomas, 2012 1st. With Ryan and possibly BOTH Kane's available I'd just tell Howson like it is. Something along the lines of "You're not the only show in town anymore Tex, take it or leave it. I got Anaheim on hold [/exhale cigar smoke]."

Then they can terminate his contract. But they wont do that because then theyd get nothing for him

I figured. The only reason I thought of that was because going into the season, it was discussed that if Redden didn't show up to HFD, his contract would have been terminated. I guess he wouldn't have been a FA then? Oh well.
