Grigorenko, Dumba, Murray, Rielly, or Galchenyuk, would be slightly disappointed if Garth took anybody else without trading down.

I just want to reiterate that I have no constraints when it comes to GDT making. If the right idea comes along, we'll do what we have to do supplement our up and coming stable of GDTs. Unfortunately, the reality is that the best jpegs and videos don't always choose our board due to the lack of flash-based coding or a music player. But I don't want to discuss that right now, our focus is on the draft and our annual draft thread. And after that, we're going to get ready for the regular season where I fully expect our GDTs to compete for the Waffle Cup playoffs.

Oh, and it's the Coliseum's fault.

:sarcasm:

Defense wins championships. It's true in football, it's true in basketball, it's true in hockey.

Let's push the rebuild a step further by taking a franchise defenseman to play alongside Hamonic for the next 15 years.

LAIslanderFan 06-21-2012 11:56 PM

Wish I could join in with you guys tomorrow, but I have to work. I'll catch it on the DVR tomorrow night.

I want a defensemen!!!

Umm.....I'm with ya, but there are no franchise defensemen out there this year.

Grigo or Forsberg. INTELLIGENT hockey and high skill is what Tavares lacks on his line. He's only got a cycler and a pillow fight loser.

But I'd welcome a trade to get Yak if Edmonton drafts Murray (Lachance redux).

Lachance couldn't skate and was a relative pilon.

That's not Murray.

Been slacking on scouting this draft. Been putting too much focus on the NBA since my Hornets got the #1 pick. But I'm ready for this one. Would still like to see Dumba donning the orange and blue tomorrow.

A Pointed Stick 06-22-2012 01:10 AM

Just please do not trade down. That is all I want.

Paulinho 06-22-2012 02:14 AM

Ryan Murray

No one else.

TheZec 06-22-2012 03:46 AM

We are guaranteed one of forsberg, murray, galchenjuk or grigorenko. I may like Reinhart too, but PLEASE Snow, don't look any further than that!

Also, I hope we don't pick Dumba... I don't know why, but I don't really like him.

Dan-o16 06-22-2012 04:36 AM

Ha! There was an ad for 'Secret' Deodorant on my GDT. That's right, low draft picks, pH balanced to cover the stench of a sh***** organization.

Cheers,

Dan-o

Craig Button saying we will take Griffin Reinhart. If so, no reason to commit suicide. Reinhart is as good a pick as any defenseman out there only bigger body.
None of the D prospects are projected as future #1's. More like #2's/3's.

CREW99AW 06-22-2012 05:42 AM

I'll be happy with anyone of Galchenyuk, Forsberg, Murray, Reilly or Reinhart.

A potential 1st line forward or a potential 1st pairing defenseman.

jdr016 06-22-2012 05:48 AM

With Murray off the board, if Snow follows his pattern of previous drafts, the pick will be Forsberg.

WangMustGo 06-22-2012 05:53 AM

My top 4 prediction

1. Edmonton-yakupov
2. Islanders ( send 2nd round pick to BJs)- Ryan Murray
3. Montreal- Galchenyuk
4. Columbus- Forsberg

I hope that we draft someone of Yakupov, Murray, Galchenyuk, Forsberg or trading down for some defenceman.

But Forsberg is going be become a very good player, trust me.

center55 06-22-2012 06:08 AM

Looking forward to the draft, we are in a good spot and in Garth I trust! After much of my own limited research this is the way I see it.

Most Likely Yakupov, Forsberg, and Murray are gone if not Grab whoever is still around at 4 and consider it a gift.

Personally, again based on limited knowledge, I would take RIELY at pick 4 I feel when it is all said and done and you look back at this draft he (next to Murray) will be the best defenseman of the bunch.

I honestly could see us taken Riely, Dumba, Reinhart, Galchenyuk or Teravainen in this spot given are past history at the draft it is rather wide open who Snow would rate highest.

I would be surprise but not totally unhappy with Trouba, or Grigorenko

Anyone else in my mind would be hard to justify, I am confident that one of the above players will be Islanders at the end of today and that makes today a pretty good day!

Enjoy the draft!

Seph 06-22-2012 06:14 AM

If we end up with Murray I will be extremely happy.

I would be willing to settle for Forsberg or Reinhart, but Murray is what I will be crossing my fingers all day for.

Riddick 06-22-2012 06:24 AM

i know its too late to get the semantics of this but what is the fascination with forsberg? isnt that almost exactly verbatim what everyone was saying about nino when he was drafted?

Teams can't have enough big forwards who can skate(see Boston)

I hope you haven't soured on 19 yr old Nino.

He wasn't ready for the NHL at 19.The fact that he was allowed to struggle all season on the isles,is an embarrassment for the Isles, not Nino.
