Meh... last minute draft talk, I wouldn't read too much in to it. If Yakupov isn't picked #1, it'll look silly in a couple of years. Like most of the unexpected draft day drops usually do (Esposito not included).

The fact that CBJ passes on him if he falls to them means nothing IMO, since I'm pretty sure Edm will take Yakupov 1st overall

If this does happen (assuming EDM passes too) Montreal fans should buy a few hundred dollars worth of fireworks and champagne and get ready to celebrate.

If Yakupov slips to 3 apparently MTL isn't interested in him either so hell end up in New York or Toronto:laugh:

Agreed, but I think many other GMs would be interested as well. Would probably be a long wait between #1 and #2 picks if Yakupov doesn't go first as everyone does their last ditch effort to move up. If Yakupov doesn't go first I will guarantee he goes 2nd.

Yes. Yakupov definitely doesn't make it to #3, someone would trade up, even if it's just Montreal and then Columbus gets Forsberg and a pick or something.

The problem with Columbus trading #2 to Toronto is that the Islanders may take Forsberg if it goes Murray, Yakupov, Galchenyuk before them. Edmonton runs the same risk of not getting Murray if they trade down to #5.

Laugh all you want, but that is quite a possibility. Our headscout has indicated that it was a major concern if a young player has already have concussions in their junior career.

It would be incredibly stupid if he does not get picked by the time it's Montreal's turn to pick. This guy outscored Stamkos for God's sakes.

If the Oilers take Murray I can see a lot of movement after that pick. I would be surprised if some team did not make a big enough offer for Columbus to trade down. I would even guess it could be the Leafs.

If this happens, it's no wonder that the Oilers and Jackets are the two worst organizations in hockey.

With that being said, i think the Oilers take Yakupov. All these media guys are just speculating and are just trying to stir up drama IMO. Oilers management are extremely tight lipped, nobody knows but them and the scouting staff IMO.

Yakupov never had a concussion.
