@aportzline: #CBJ GM Scott Howson says deal for G Sergei Bobrovsky "not done yet."
I like word "yet"

I've started a thread 1 minute earlier :)

Kev22 06-22-2012 11:10 AM

Obviously we don't stay away from Russian goalies.

Gagnefan924 06-22-2012 11:10 AM

Yesssss

topscot78 06-22-2012 11:10 AM

CBJ get Bobrovsky

Dreger just announced we got Bobrovsky from the Flyers for draft picks. That was all he had.

Hoping thin market does not mean we overpaid.

gojackets1 06-22-2012 11:11 AM

Daaaaaamn

DJAnimosity 06-22-2012 11:11 AM

Still need another goalie though.

topscot78 06-22-2012 11:12 AM

Nice work on the fast post. I moved too slow!!

Dreger has never made false reports. I'm sure that's gonna be done pretty soon.

Gagnefan924 06-22-2012 11:12 AM

As long as its not in the first round, this is a great deal.

CBJBrassard16 06-22-2012 11:12 AM

Ugh.. no...

We've never had any. Nikitin's experiment works out very well.

Gagnefan924 06-22-2012 11:14 AM

Porty just tweeted howson it's not done yet. It shall be soon bc they would never come out with it and comment on it.

Nordique 06-22-2012 11:16 AM

Not a bonified #1. I like him, he had a great season in 2010-2011.

So are we looking at a Mason/Bobrovsky tandem in goal this season or are we still looking for a #1?

RDriesenUD 06-22-2012 11:16 AM

I like this depending on what draft picks we traded. There is one of the 2 goalies we need as I would still prefer to not have Mason as one of them next year.

Kev22 06-22-2012 11:17 AM

Let the rebuild begin.

KeithBWhittington 06-22-2012 11:17 AM

ummmmm Yay?

KeithBWhittington 06-22-2012 11:18 AM

Bob COULD be a number one, but shouldn't be counted on to be one next season.... Mason on his way out? Gawd, I hope so.

Hopefully still pursuing Luongo. A Mason/Bobrovsky tandem would be cringe-worthy.

Kev22 06-22-2012 11:20 AM

Portzline just tweeted Bobrovsky's stat line from last season.... .899 Sv% and 3.02 GAA. Maybe it is possible to get a goalie worse than Mason. We're going to keep Mason and go for the Anti-Jennings Award.

But look at 2010-2011 when he played about twice as much as last year. Much larger sample size, and he was the starter prior to the Bryzgalov deal.

54GP 28W 13L .915SV 2.59GAA

He's either a very good backup or a young starter. I could see him as part of a tandem, starting 40-50 games this season.

2010-2011:

54 GP, .915 SV%, and 2.59 GAA
