great job on the thread transcend!

I'm looking forward to this. I'll be in the office streaming tomorrow's picks and I'll post Red Line's write-ups on our picks as they happen.

Ok, Viqsi is going to the draft now. She has standing orders:

1) if she see Don Ferh to kick him in the junk.

2) if she hears Siter is going to Detroit to wreck his knee

Lucky for her to go. I went to the one here in 2003 and it was great fun. My son was one of those kids who ran errands from the tables. He was assigned to Pittsburgh and was one of the first to congratulate M-A Fleury on his selection by the Penguins.

Is it just me, or did you have a story about Gretzky snubbing Logan at the draft?

NoNecksCurse 06-22-2012 02:39 PM

really wish we could have the 21st overall back right about now ...

Yeah I got to sit next to the Geoffrions in 2004

grigorenko possibly going at no. 17? if we had our first, moving up 4 spots would be do-able.. supposedly he is an elite skilled center. before this season, it was him versus yakupov for no.1 overall ..

If Grigs falls past 15 and we don't at least try to move up.....

Everlong 06-22-2012 03:25 PM

There are a few late first rounders that could be 2nds depending on which list you're looking at.

Personally, I'm looking at Martin Frk in the 2nd round as my hopeful. Needs work to sand down the rough edges, but you can't teach skill, and he's got it.

Why do you want Radulov part 2?

No one knows if he'll be Rads part 2 or not. If he pans out, he will be the elite #1 center we need. If not, oh well. I think, for the right deal, it's worth the risk. Should we trade up to #5 or something? No. If he falls far enough, I think it's worth a shot.

Yeah, he and some other draft kids saw him and asked for an autograph. He said sure, but he had to do something first and he'd be right back...and then never returned. The kids had been told not to ask for autographs from anyone til after the draft was finished for the day so they missed out on the others while waiting for him to return. If he'd just said, sorry, go pick on that Parise guy instead they'd have been better off. I still don't like him, but time has healed the mad. ;) I felt we were even when he coached the Coyotes to suckfulness and his wife got caught.

Teekko 06-22-2012 04:42 PM

if Pearson is available at 37 would you guys want him?

I think his goal scoring ability is something we defiantly need in our prospect pool

Anyone have a potential stream?

braindead 06-22-2012 05:00 PM

Quick question/poll: If you are Poile and you get the call, would you trade Weber straight up for the #1 pick from the Oilers?

Depends. If Weber says he won't re-sign, probably. If Weber wants to stay, HELL no.

gopreds19 06-22-2012 05:22 PM

Since we've traded our 1st away for non-contributing Gaustad, shouldn't tomorrow be GDT?

Over 60% at the dot while taking 158 playoff draws is non-contributing? The next highest percentage of anyone with even double digit draws was a full 10% lower. He did exactly what he was brought in to do and managed to score as many goals in the post season as SK, Fisher, Erat, and Radulov. Hmmmmm.

Never know if we trade into the 1st again somehow.

Yes if you know Suter will re-sign. Heck, go after Parise at that point and we've got a number one line.

I'm on the edge of my seat. If Suter's rights get us a 1st rounder then trade them. Suter is gone.

glenngineer 06-22-2012 06:18 PM

Poile sucks. I can't believe he didn't trade up to yakupov.

headsigh 06-22-2012 06:19 PM

Nail to Oilers
Lubomir Visnovsky to Isles for a 2nd in 2013
