He went through the draft last year, mainly because they had him playing forward a lot in Erie. This year he was a little more comfortable playing for a good coach in Belleville. We think he’s got a chance because of his size; he played tougher this year." http://i.imgur.com/2gL2v.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/L0Tvh.png Pre-Draft News Articles Bulking up the Blueline: Bulls Acquire Brady Austin (OHL) The Road to Pittsburgh: Bulls a hot commodity (OHL) Bulls hand out annual awards (OHL) Post-Draft News Articles A complete rundown of Buffalo's work on Day Two of the 2012 Entry Draft (Sabres.com) Sabres select Bulls D-man in final round (The Intelligencer) Buffalo Bull: Sabres select Brady Austin (OHL) 2012-13 Season Updates (Bio) ... He's HUGE Buffalo Huuuuge
6'4" 234lbs. |
They are definitely drafting for size this year. This kid has monster size...already.
Scored 26 points last year on the blueline for a Belleville team that wasnt known for scoring.
Cant go wrong with big size in the 7th |
Welcome to the Buffalo Sabres BRADY AUSTIN :sabres
Tight End for the Bills?
Has a great save% :sarcasm:
whaaaa ??? he's 19 and already 234 at 6'4" ? did we slide into a football draft here ?? did the Bills get another pass rushing DE/LB ?
Granted he is an overager, but those are pretty decent numbers for a stay at home dman on a team that doesn't score a lot. Even McNabb only had 36 points in his draft year.
The kid's a mammoth out there. I'm looking forward to catching a Bulls game or two to see what there is to see out of him.

Austin wears the 'A' and was the recipient of two year-end awards from his club -- Most Dedicated Player and Most Improved Player.

I went to school with him and Justin Kea for a few years in high school so kind of cool to see them get drafted into the NHL. I knew they played junior but I never knew they got drafted the other day until my buddy told me.
For a linebacker, the kid can move. I watched a few Bulls games simply to watch Malc, and Austin was noticeable. Love that he wears a letter. Always a bonus in my eyes.

I had no idea Brady was even drafted this year until I saw him on the front page of today's local newspaper. While it says he was born in Lindsay, he is actually from Bobcaygeon, Ontario. Congrats on picking up this guy, as he has been fun to watch and is absolutely massive! Being a Leafs fan, it could be hard to watch him lay big hits on the blue & white.
I have actually seen Brady play a few times throughout the years as my him and my cousin have played for the same team growing until they were in their mid teens. Most recently I watched him when the Belleville Bulls came to Peterborough. The kid is a beast and when he had the puck, other players had a tough time knocking him away. I have a feeling that he will have a good career and I can't wait to see what he can do in the NHL if/when he gets a shot. |
