I dont understand why 3 ppl already have Tinordi at #2. I put him at #6 because he has no offensive upside whatsoever.

Beaulieu didn't have a great year of development whether this board wants to admit it or not. He's looking alot more like a 2nd tier offensive dman, and that's only if he refines his defensive game and improves his decision making.

I know I am in the minority here .. but I would think hard about putting Gallagher ahead of Collberg.

Gallagher will be a top 6 player in the NHL.

He led his team in scoring for a d-man.

He was drafted to be an offensive d-man.

Care to explain in what way he was a disappointment that isn't something that proper coaching and developing can help?

It's too early for a declaration like that.

I've seen him play a few times, LOVE his game. But who knows if it translates to top 6 in the NHL.

I think what we can say about him is at worst he'll develop into a great 3rd line 2 way guy who can contribute to the PK and PP if needed as well.

Like Chara... ;)

Montreal did extremely well at this year's draft if you ask me! Galchenyk, Collberg, Thrower and Bozon with the first 4 picks....well done!

Not sure why, but I'm much more excited with Collberg than with Tinordi and Beaulieu. I would put him ahead of the two.

1. Alex Galchenyuk
2. Nathan Beaulieu

C -> 2 (Galchenyuk, Bournival)
W -> 6 (Collberg, Gallagher, Leblanc, Kristo, Bozon, Holland)
D -> 4 (Beaulieu, Tinordi, Thrower, Ellis)

I originally put him ahead of Tinordi but shifted it around on second thought since Tinordi is "safer". I'm surprised people have Leblanc ahead of Collberg.

Bullsmith 06-23-2012 02:41 PM

To me Gal is clearly #1, tinordi, beaieu and Leblanc are in a tier by themselves below him, and then there are 6-8 decent prospects below them, including at least 2 from this year. The. There are some longshots with high upsides or low ceilings.

Really? I mean we all have our own opinion but I honestly think he has been our most improved prospect this past season. Surprised you have him that high.

But the again 29Dryden29 wouldn't even have him in his top 100 Habs prospect:laugh:

rockjngo 06-23-2012 02:45 PM

1. Alex Galchenyuk
I think Galchenyuk is the total package. 6'2" 200lbs, great hands, vision, skating, heart. He has it all. I'm betting Galchenyuk will be a perennial all-star. Reminds me of Jonathan Toews.

2. Nathan Beaulieu
While he may become an really solid defenseman, I see him only as a top 4 defenseman who can quarterback our powerplay with PK Subban. Reminds me Jack Johnson.

3. Jarred Tinordi
Like Beaulieu, Tinordi is a top 4 defenseman and I expect him to play a shutdown defensive role. He's a physical player. Reminds me of Derian Hatcher.

4. Brendan Gallagher
I really like Gallagher's desire to be the best player in last year's camp. He's got alot of heart, he may not put up all star numbers but he will give you 200% every game. I love to see Galchenyuk-Gallagher combo. Reminds me of Saku Koivu/Brian Gionta

5. Sebastien Collberg
I love this pick. Collberg was highly rated, he's got all the tools to create room and score goals. Reminds me of Ales Hemsky.

6. Danny Kristo
7. Patrick Holland
8. Michael Bournival
9. Morgan Ellis
10. Dalton Thrower
