For the Sabres, as long as our players are kept, I can see us going with the same rotation (captain, two home alternates, two away alternates) as last year. We'd just need to pick one new alternate to take the "A" Gaustad used to wear.

I'd think either Regehr or Ehrhoff would be the logical choices considering who we already have. Leopold and maybe Hecht (if he stays) might be considered too.

Reclamation Project 06-25-2012 02:34 AM

Los Angeles Kings

"C" - Dustin Brown
"A" - Matt Greene
"A" - Anze Kopitar

The same lineup. Give Stoll an "A" if either one gets injured. Mike Richards and Jeff Carter will NEVER get a letter, I can guarantee it. Both have publicly said they don't want one.

zombi 06-25-2012 06:00 AM

:wings

C - Zetterberg
A - Datsyuk
A - Kronwall
A - UFA (assuming we get one of our big-name target, except for Semin).

beowulf 06-25-2012 10:04 AM

I would think for Montreal it will be something like

C-Gionta
A-Markov
A-Gorges

Robert Theodorson 06-25-2012 10:20 AM

Caps

C - Ovechkin

A - Backstrom

A - rotating (hopefully Alzner or Carlson)

Yep, that's how I see it, too. If any of them go down with an injury then Plekanec or Cole would get an 'A'.

Vankiller Whale 06-25-2012 11:04 AM

Toronto:
C: Roberto Luongo:sarcasm:

Kronwalled55 06-25-2012 11:08 AM

"C" - Henrik Zetterberg
"A" - Pavel Datsyuk
"A" - Niklas Kronwall

Couldn't see Parise or Suter getting the "third" A even if they came to Detroit... At least right away.

BonMorrison 06-25-2012 11:11 AM

Leafs is confusing because they seem to have rotating alternates.

Captain is obviously Phaneuf but the "Alternate" seems to rotate around Komisarek, Armstrong, Grabovski and Kessel.. Grabovski had an A for most of last season but lost it when Armstrong came back from his 3943 injuries. Kessel would wear the A whenever Komisarek was out which was a very large portion of the season.

Judging from last year, the pecking order of the A's was:

Komisarek
Armstrong
Grabovski
Kessel

Gentle Jake Virtanen 06-25-2012 11:12 AM

Oilers, hopefully

C- Hall
A- Smid
A- Eberle

unlikely but this is probably what the setup should be

IslesRock4 06-25-2012 11:13 AM

Tavares has a permanent A, and Okposo is likely to have one too, unless they slap one on Visnovsky (they like doing that to new veteran additions).

LightningStrikes 06-25-2012 11:14 AM

Tampa's pecking order of the 'A':

1. St. Louis
2. Ohlund (should he ever return)
3. Stamkos
4. Brewer (wore it when St. Louis was injured)
5. Malone (wore it on a few occasions in the past: pre-season, injuries, etc.)

Yeah, it got pretty ridiculous there. It would change on a game by game basis.

Antaris 06-25-2012 11:15 AM

Orpik get permanent A

Dr Jan Itor 06-25-2012 11:26 AM

C - Koivu
A - Heatley
A - Brodziak

Alfie still hasn't announced anything official although I expect most people are expecting him to come back for one more year.

If he doesn't then I think Spezza would be expected to get the C and perhaps Neil would get an A.

HarrisonFord 06-25-2012 11:42 AM

Leafs:

Captain: Shea Weber
Alternate: Dion Phaneuf
Alternate: Zach Parise
Alternate: Mikhail Grabovski

Ominous Grey 06-25-2012 11:46 AM

:pens

C - Sidney Crosby
A - Evgeni Malkin

A - ???

It will go to one of Letang, Orpik, or Suter/Parise if they sign. We are currently debating this third A on our own board. Some people say Orpik, others Letang.

BrindamoursNose 06-25-2012 12:27 PM

C: Claude Giroux
A: Kimmo Timonen
A: Daniel Briere
(A): Scott Hartnell (whenever one of the above is hurt)

MillarWithASave 06-25-2012 12:29 PM

I hope the Panthers assign Parise the captaincy when he comes here on July 1st. :sarcasm:

Maldini3 06-25-2012 12:36 PM

Johnson will wear the A for Colorado

Izzy 06-25-2012 12:36 PM

if we keep the same 2 home 2 away, im guessing Pietrangelo is getting an A. Even though it would be nice to see Oshie with one too, its somewhat unlikely.

bp spec 06-25-2012 12:39 PM

Flyers:

Timonen, Briere, Giroux and even Hartnell are in the running to be our Captain.
I assume it's going to be Timonen and he's worth the honor. But I won't be disappointed if Briere or Hartnell gets the C. I want Giroux to be free of the extra responsibilities until he feels that he's mature enough and can handle the pressure of being the Captain.

there is also the possibility that Phillips holds the C for a year or two before retiring. At that point you have a clearer idea if the C goes permanently to Spezza or Karlsson.
