Yeah that's really cool. Just shows you how Bolland gets the short end of the stick. Plays with Q's doghouse for linemates, gets some of the toughest competition minutes in the league, and still puts up respetable numbers.

Sir Psycho T 06-25-2012 02:11 PM

Hopefully people see this and quit giving Bolland such crap. The guy goes out against the toughest live of the other team and his 1 goal is to shut-down their superstar, yet people give him crap for not scoring enough, yet amazingly despite this being his job and weak line-mates he still gets 15+ goals every year. His stats don't begin to tell his value to this team.

No Fun Shogun 06-25-2012 02:25 PM

Agreed. I like Bolland. Not a fantastic player by any means, but he does more than well enough for what he's expected to do.

Ujjy 06-25-2012 02:40 PM

I've always liked Bolland, He's pretty much the reason our bottom 6 can even function.

coldsteelonice84 06-25-2012 02:42 PM

Love Bolland, if Kruger was producting like that, you'd see 10 times more posts about him than you already do.

That's awesome. What I really like is how all of that data really conforms to what you see on the ice in terms of effectiveness. Basically Bolland is a workhorse and the only thing salvaging our bottom six. Brunette is absolute garbage. Frolik and Bickell get crapped on too much and it agrees with my belief that Bollig has no business on NHL ice.

I would like him more if he was on the second line...

Then the entire bottom-6 goes to hell.

Not if you sign a 3rd line center. You can find guys that can defend.

With how weak the bottom-6 already is, downgrading from Bolland to a typical 3rd line center will result in one of if not the worst bottom-sixes in the league.

Bubba88 06-25-2012 04:04 PM

keep Bolland where he is. Best role he can have for us

massivegoonery 06-25-2012 05:00 PM

Blue spot for Kruger up there in the tough quadrant, pretty impressive.

DontToewzMeBro 06-25-2012 05:52 PM

Stalberg - Toews - Kane
Saad - Sharp - Hossa
Shaw- Bolland - Ott

Beauty

Dont forget a carcillo. I thought he was effective in the top 6 before the idiotic hit.

wouldn't mind this either if we end up shipping hammer out. ott would be nicer, but i feel like this year beach might actually put up a fight to stick around with the big club. dont know who or what we'd get back for stalberg though.

Bowman gets **** on a lot, but I like the way he seems to be running the team, building from the inside out in a more sustainable model. in my mind thats why the hawks aren't making tons of moves every year and thus far have just attained stop-gaps for the most part. As frustrating as it seems now that were not getting the ribero's or the visnovsky's, it will lead to more long-term success.

i keep forgetting about him, gives saad another year to develop by plugging him into the #2 LW spot

I hope people reign in the hate on him a little... he's doing good things out there and the data supports that.

I didn't realize so many hadn't seen this chart or I would have posted it for you... I saw it n the main boards like a month ago, maybe more.

xX Hot Fuss 06-25-2012 07:25 PM

That "Bolland" thread made in January (too lazy to search for it) made me question exactly what some of you were watching 82 nights out of the year. It seemed like people really expected Bolland to put up 50-60 points a year despite his ES role and his invisible PP time.

Now that J. Staal is officially a 2C, in think it's safe to say that Bolland is the best 3C in the league, if not top 3.

HawkeyLife07 06-25-2012 07:35 PM

My guess?

Stalberg Toews Hossa
Sharp Kane Saad
_____ Bolland Shaw
Carcillo Kruger Bollig/Bickell/Mayers

Keith Seabrook
Suter/Hjalmarsson Oduya
Leddy Montador

Crawford
Emery

TwistedWrister90 06-25-2012 08:12 PM

^steve sullivan as the third line LW. would cost around $1.5m for a one year deal. plays on the PP too

So basically the same lineup that already lost in the first round once, plus a gigantic longshot in Suter.

Sadly, probably accurate... and with the exact same result.

Iridium128 06-25-2012 08:25 PM

Apparently, Peter Mueller will become a UFA. How would you feel about signing him? Has a record of being injured but could be a decent 2nd line winger if Saad needs some minor league time.
