Jeanneret to Announce Every Game This Season

Jeanneret announces on WGR that he's doing every game. Says the schedule made it easiest enough for him to come back. The lack of as many back to backs and the realization that he took off too many days last year sold him on coming back full time.

BloFan4Life 06-27-2012 09:08 AM

O man, don't know if I can handle him for 82 games a year.

Awesome news. Keep that mind sharp, Rick!

You could always go on NHL.com and listen to the opposing announcers

Since Dunleavy wasn't available and there didn't seem to be any decent back-up plans for the PxP in the games RJ was going to skip, this comes as a welcome relief.

I suspect that the format change - where the annoying Neale was removed to allow to fly solo - may have also had something to do with his willingness to work all of the games. It became obvious the past two seasons that Neale's funbling of facts and babbling of tired cliches were starting to annoy RJ.

This is the best news since Friday night!

This post has been reported to administrators for offensive language. :sarcasm:

Ruckus007 06-27-2012 09:24 AM

Fine by me.

DixonWard15 06-27-2012 09:37 AM

Great news, just hope this isn't his swan song

He didnt make it sound like it was. Basically he said that this season just worked out perfectly for him to do it. Every season will be a case by case basis on how many he will announce and he'll keep going as long as he can climb the stairs to the announcer's booth.

CrankyJay 06-27-2012 10:19 AM

Awesome news. And better yet, don't have to listen to KSly call games.

ZZamboni 06-27-2012 10:21 AM

For me, this is the best news of the off season. All off season.

Afino 06-27-2012 10:32 AM

Winning.

Penalty Killa 06-27-2012 10:34 AM

He isn't the RJ I grew up with, but he is definitely better than any current replacement.

I'll take it! :thumbu:

Same here, this is very exciting. Can't wait!

SublimeNightmare 06-27-2012 10:42 AM

Epic!

minuteater 06-27-2012 10:49 AM

This is great news but I wouldn't have minded Hamilton picking up some games, as others have stated before, to give Jeanneret some relief.

Myllz 06-27-2012 11:05 AM

Take that, KSly!

Awesome. Stoked to know that barring unforeseen catastrophe I'll get RJ every night.

matthew94 06-27-2012 11:14 AM

The fact that he is older and messes up more often is MORE than covered by the fact that he's fun to listen to and is nearly synonymous with Sabres hockey. Love it.

jBuds 06-27-2012 11:42 AM

Sorry Buck.... But I was hoping this would be the year his replacement was groomed, taking every game that Rick takes off and eventually more and more... He has lost...a step...

Matty K 06-27-2012 11:48 AM

This Off Season keeps getting better.

New Sabres Captain 06-27-2012 11:50 AM

Now all we need is for him to call a game with both Grigorenko and Girgensons playing...ideally on the ice at the same time for some reason (like a PP or something)...
