Trading Private (Bobby) Ryan? All Ryan Discussion Here. [Part IV]

Get the feeling that Murray didn't do an interview with TSN after drafting Lindholm because he immediately went to go handle the Ryan situation. Maybe his comments caught him by surprise. They're probably talking it out right now...well...maybe not this minute, but they're probably having pre July 1st discussions. Ryan's future directly affects the game plan for this FA. And with only 39 million on the books, Murray is going to have to do SOMETHING, especially after crippling our blueline.

I know Anaheim wants a lot, but Ryan for Read + Meszaros sounds fair to me.

Bobby Ryan: 31 goals, 26 assists.

Matt Read: 24 goals, 23 assists.

I wouldn't base Ryan's value on this season alone. Is Matt Read going to hit 30 goals yearly?

Do you think it is fair to take Ryan's four-year low, particularly considering that he's also younger than Read?

Regardless--I think we've gone down this road enough times to know how it ends with Ducks fans. They want, probably quite reasonably, a better second-line center than Read. (I don't think they can get that, and get a defenseman of Meszaros's caliber, but that's another matter).

Lord Flashheart 06-27-2012 03:51 PM

There's a considerable difference producing 31-26 on last seasons Ducks and 24-23 on last seasons Flyers.

JawandaPuck 06-27-2012 03:53 PM

ANA is going to get a good young player in return from PHI.

Then you know nothing.

Not sure if ANA will be interested in any return from PHI that doesn't include Couts or Schenn. Just saying...

Yes, but this won't always be the case. :sarcasm:

Still, not enough to get it done.

KPower 06-27-2012 03:58 PM

Why are Ana trading Bobby Ryan ?

It makes no sense to me.

First they were just listening to offers. Teams always try to get better. Now I think Bobby might be asking for a trade.

Roo Mad Bro 06-27-2012 03:59 PM

I think it's only a matter of time before Ryan is donning the orange and black.

Maybe that's just me being a Flyers fan, though.

whskybarJM 06-27-2012 04:00 PM

he is coming home.

Hartnell - Giroux - Ryan

going to be a pretty nasty line

I was wondering that as well...

I am curious if the Penguins will try to trade for him if they can't land Parise.

The Penguins don't make good trading partners for the Ducks. Anaheim needs good, young forwards and the Pens have none to spare. Even if the Flyers don't part with Schenn or Couturier, they still have Voracek/Read and a defenseman to package.

Backstrom seems like a good fit for the Hawks, especially since we don't have to trade anything worthwhile. :sarcasm:

If the Flyers were willing to give up Couturier or Schenn for Ryan, then Ryan would already be a Flyer.
