I like Nash.

Canadiens sign B. Nash

Good stuff.

Hopefully he bounces back after his injury. Curious to see what his upside is.

le_sean 06-28-2012 08:21 PM

Not bad, but he'll get lost in the shuffle with all of the youngsters going to Hamilton.

Me too :naughty:

Nice. He's going to help Beaulieu and Tinordi a lot in Hamilton.

Not so sure about that. It's a possibility but he was a top defender in Hamilton in his rookie year and looked solid in his cup of coffee with the Habs, again after only one year in the AHL. He's a bit older for sure, and lost a year to injury, but the guy has legit potential. No surprise he is brought back, just hope he can stay healthy and pick right up from where he started with his first year in Hamilton!

Stjonnypopo 06-28-2012 08:24 PM

Good signing.

I think he's one of the first call-ups this season. He has the size, he just needs to show he can keep up with the big boys.

Myron Gaines* 06-28-2012 08:25 PM

Good for Hamilton

It's a one year, two-way deal. I doubt he is in their longterm plans. Tinordi, Beaulieu and Ellis are the future on defence. I could see Nash playing a similar role to Picard, probably around 30 NHL games depending on injuries.

Takashi 06-28-2012 08:28 PM

Good

Who knows where he fits in their long term plans. After a good rookie AHL season he missed the entire season after.

And yet with a completely new regime and not a single game last season to go off of the Habs signed him.

Yeah, I'm more referring to you saying he'd got lost in the shuffle in Hamilton, I took that to mean you didn't think he had much to offer there. At the very least he will be a very good Hamilton player in my opinion. Even 30 games in the NHL I'd say is a stretch, so I'm not overvaluing him. Just saying I don't think he'll be lost in the Hamilton influx at all, but instead be a key for them down there.

ClasslessGuy 06-28-2012 08:31 PM

Good i like him in hamilton

WeThreeKings 06-28-2012 08:32 PM

Nash and Avtsin were good friends in the AHL. Hopefully Nash coming back will help Avtsin again.

Analyzer 06-28-2012 08:37 PM

Hopefully he stays healthy. Looks promising to a could-be-5/6/7th-dman.

I like him for Hamilton. I like that he could be an NHLer at some point although obviously no one should count on that. I like having him back period.

Yes, for sure. I meant it from an NHL perspective. He's a very good AHLer.

kassian 06-28-2012 08:58 PM

Good signing.

Whitesnake 06-28-2012 09:12 PM

Needs to improve his overall skating and quickness if he ever wants to make it. If not, it makes him a very valuable AHL'er. Might be the future Alex Henry as far as captaincy material and good leadership for the youngsters.

I'd rather see Nash get call up than Tinordi, Ellis and Beaulieu. They need at least one full year in Hamilton.

By the way, isn't it weird that Nash seems to have sign a contract that is lower than his QO!

well Nash lost a whole season because of his injury.. So he's no better than the others.

Top Corner2 06-28-2012 10:28 PM

Hopefully he bulked up....he was a rag doll. Looking forward to seeing what he can do this year.

Chris Cutter 06-28-2012 10:29 PM

I'm glad that we brought him back. He's pretty much a bigger version of St-Denis, him and Freddy should be able to anchor and mentor our young prospects coming up. Wouldn't be surprised if he earned a spot as our #7, the dude would have played for us without a doubt if it wasn't for injuries.

Except that he got a full season in the AHL under his belt. 2 NHL games to boot.
