Bruins/Flames trade

To Boston:
Jay Bouwmeester
Markus Granlund

To Calgary:
David Krejci

Timbo Slice 06-30-2012 10:33 PM

Needs a bit more from Calgary because of Bouwmeester's contract, imo.

Deen 06-30-2012 10:34 PM

Calgary takes it.

Rabbit 06-30-2012 10:36 PM

As a fan of neither team, add an early draft pick from Calgary and i think its a fair deal.

I think adding a 3rd would be apt. APT I SAY!

Skobel24 06-30-2012 11:00 PM

Would Boston really want Jaybo's contract?

Abyss 06-30-2012 11:15 PM

The Bruins don't consider that. Bouwmeester would be horrible in Boston and Krejci is very important to the team even if it seems like everyone wants to run him out of town every few months.

redbeard7737 06-30-2012 11:23 PM

Boston wont move Krejci for Bouwmeester...I would love to see Bo on Boston but not at the expense of one of our top 6 forwards...it would be picks and or prospects...I would do a Caron, Cross and a 2nd for him

Bruins71* 06-30-2012 11:29 PM

No no no no no no no.

Bill Ladd 06-30-2012 11:42 PM

For the Bruins to consider JayBo and that contract they'd have to get a deal. No way they include top half roster players.

It would have to be something like Thomas and futures, with those futures either being young roster guys like Caron and McQuaid or prospects/picks.

If that's not acceptable to CGY that's fine and fair, I'm not trying to disparrage the player or insult anyone, that's just how I think Boston would view the situation.

you have to move salary and calgary wants a top 6 there are teams would offer top 6 forwards you don't get a top 2 dman with picks and prospects unless its Dougie Hamilton

lol what?...terrible salary...you will NEVER get a prospect like Hamilton for Bouwmeester, sorry...ask any fanbase and they will agree. And you won't get a top 6 forward either...what you will get is capspace so Feaster can sign a free agent top 6 fwd...Boychuk, Caron and a 2nd for Bouwmeester gives the Flames a tough hitting dman who has a good cap hit, a 3rd line fwd and a good pick in a good draft...and gives them space...

David Krejci 07-01-2012 01:01 AM

I want absolutely nothing to do with Bouwmeester, especially for someone like Krejci.

zeus3007* 07-01-2012 01:03 AM

I don't think Boston really considers this at all.

Dr Danglefest 07-01-2012 01:03 AM

Why do the bruins need jayBo?

Chara-Johnny Rocket
Seids-dougie fresh
Ference-Mcquaid
Krug

Why the hell would we give up anything significant for a cap headache?

Simply put... No thank you

Dellstrom 07-01-2012 01:41 AM

We don't want JayBo or his contract.

IF Krejci is moved, HUGE if, it's in a package for a top-line winger.

Machinehead 07-01-2012 01:47 AM

I don't see how this helps the Bruins at all. They'll be trading from a weakness to add to a surplus.

Bouwmeester doesn't have a lot of trade value, everyone knows he is way overpiad.

Deen 07-01-2012 02:34 AM

How about JayBo and Iginla for Lucic, Seidenberg and a 1st?

Two problems with your proposal - Boston won't be trading Lucic and there is no " Carson " in the organization. But other than that..........;)

Sorry, I jumped the gun a bit without thinking about it.

Don't like it.

Fans may have forgotten Krejci had the most points of any player in the 2011 playoffs, but Chiarelli and Julien haven't.

Plus, Kaberle didn't exactly fit right in on Boston's blue line (nor did Joe Corvo for that matter), and it's a huge cap hit for another defenseman that may not fit, either.

Plus - despite the year end totals, Boston's biggest problem in the playoffs was lack of goal scoring. Their offense may rank high up in a season in which many teams were fairly close; but take out the blowout games from their monster run in November/December, and their offense is pretty average.

Trading Krejci doesn't address that.

nmbr_24 07-01-2012 03:33 AM

I think Jaybo's value is pretty close to that of Seidenberg of course Jaybo makes about $3.5 million more than Seidenberg and that significantly lowers his trade value. His salary also doesn't fit into Chiarelli's stated salary structure where he said that since so many Bruin players have taken less to stay in Boston he will not take on any high priced players unless they are worth their salary and their skill and their pay rate line up properly with the way he has structured the team.

Jaybo makes $200,000 less than Chara, Chiarelli would want him to be the 2nd best player on the team if he was going to pay him that much and he would want him to be of a comparable quality of player to Chara in order to pay him that much.

That sure as heck sounds like the exact opposite of what acquiring Jaybo would do for the team.
