Sharks in on Broduer [Re-signs w/ NJD 2yr/$4.5m cap hit]

Just heard on the fan 960 radio show here that Chicago and San Jose are in on Marty Broduer. Would a 1-2 year deal for a 40 year old be worth it?

Fistfullofbeer 07-01-2012 12:22 PM

Ooh Boy.

Unless we are planning on trading Niemi as part of a bigger package this is going to be awful

sjshark91 07-01-2012 12:24 PM

yeah, I don't think so.

Gilligans Island 07-01-2012 12:24 PM

Or not make it so easy for the Hawks to sign Brodeur. Only if Niemi is gone in a trade does this make sense.

JayP812 07-01-2012 12:25 PM

:shakehead

The guy is too old, trading Niemi and replacing him with Brodeur is a big mistake.

Sharksfan83 07-01-2012 12:25 PM

Cup rings~

slocal 07-01-2012 12:25 PM

I love Brodeur, but he would be absolutely exposed by our D.

Fatturdmanshark 07-01-2012 12:27 PM

Shake n bake

Rickety Cricket 07-01-2012 12:34 PM

I can't Photoshop, but can someone make a picture of Brodeur in Sharks gear? Just to see awkward it'd look.

KpopandHockey 07-01-2012 12:37 PM

Sounds awesome. He could be another Belfour. :sarcasm:

Doubtful. Move on...

JayP812 07-01-2012 01:14 PM

Lebrun saying the only candidates right now are Chicago, Florida, and Toronto.

Sharksfan83 07-01-2012 01:18 PM

Not NJ? Sad..

Hatrick Marleau 07-01-2012 01:31 PM

I rather keep Niemi.

CommanderShepard15 07-01-2012 01:34 PM

broduer would help, hes a perfect stopgap for stalock or sateri. hes got a good glove and isnt a rebound machine like niemi.

Graveland 07-01-2012 01:37 PM

Ugh. Please no.

Lee Van Cleef* 07-01-2012 01:43 PM

Why all the negativity? He's much better than Niemi.

Gene Parmesan 07-01-2012 02:07 PM

Hes the best goalie in the league at negating a forecheck.

Not really heh. Niemi outplayed him last year by quite a margin.

SJSharksfan39 07-01-2012 02:11 PM

I would much rather be in on Parise than Brouder. We don't need him.

His health is an issue as well.

Le Rosbeef 07-01-2012 02:12 PM

Unless SJ plans on dealing Niemi to CBJ as part of a trade for Nash, this would never happen.
