what was his hit before

apice3* 07-03-2012 10:36 AM

Three years is a lot, but that's not too bad of a contract.

coolstorybro 07-03-2012 10:36 AM

but we have no money!! :baghead:

Pattysaurus 07-03-2012 10:36 AM

He definitely took less money to stay. I'm glad he's back - he's been a good warrior for us.

See ya Tallinder.

2.9, I think. Might have been 3.0.

Saugus 07-03-2012 10:37 AM

Cap hit is fine, but three years is way too much. We're going to regret this one eventually.

Devils Trap 07-03-2012 10:37 AM

3 years is alot, but the cap hit is good

CerebralGenesis 07-03-2012 10:37 AM

oh my god

Multiple teams were in the mix for Salvador...as many as 6 at one point. Salvador is very loyal and is fairly compensated.

Zajacs Bowl Cut 07-03-2012 10:38 AM

do not want 3 yrz.

Richer 44 07-03-2012 10:39 AM

This is totally fine. Almost no shift in AAV is perfect. He played awesome I don't know why people think 3 years is too much. Guy was the rock of our D-core

Team Concept 07-03-2012 10:39 AM

Are we ever going to get a defenseman again who provides some offense from the blueline? Oh how I miss...

even Tapio Levo

Hey I'm not pissed, I like it. Would rather 2 years than 3 but oh well

Basement Cat 07-03-2012 10:39 AM

Bryce is nice

Team Concept 07-03-2012 10:39 AM

I am assuming that Parise just told Lou about 10 minutes ago that he is not returning to New Jersey.

Agreed

GAH! I think the hit last time was $2.9 million or something. I love Bryce, but man all these 35+ contracts that are multi year. Hope Sykie don't get one. Marty I made an exception for, and Moose too for the fact that I believe they were willing to sign him 2 years so an established proven backup can be behind Marty if case of health reasons which is what I wanted so I'm fine with that.

Welcome back Bryce! My favorite D man post lockout. Flame away.

EliasR8 07-03-2012 10:40 AM

Could care less about cap hit but that term makes it hard for young d-man. Then again Lou might just buy him out if he's not needed anymore like Colin white.

He's awesome now, but not likely to be awesome in three years.

This also really starts to get me worried about what is happening with Parise. I didn't think Lou would move on this unless he knew we're out on Parise.

njdevilsftw 07-03-2012 10:40 AM

I guess Lou doesn't see think any d the d prospects are ready to step up to the NHL level. Unless he makes a move. The d looks prett crowded

I think he'll be fine next year, but I don't see the last 2 years of that contract being pleasant.

Hopefully he keeps up the unexpected offense.
