Habs interested in Sharp...

Quote:

Bergevin's Canadiens have also been linked to Chicago Blackhawks right wing Patrick Sharp, who has a modified no-movement clause and could likely have to approve any deal the Hawks attempt to complete.

Sharp is a fan favorite in Chicago, though, and a deal might only be consummated if the Blackhawks are successful in signing unrestricted free agent sniper Zach Parise.

Bergevin was the assistant general manager in Chicago last season, which has also fueled speculation.

Tomas Plekanec anyone?

What do you think of those rumors?

MadhouseOnMadison 07-04-2012 12:27 PM

There is no one available right now that would be worth moving Sharp.

MTP 07-04-2012 12:29 PM

The only guy I would have considered moving Sharp for just signed a long term deal in Carolina, so no thank you.

Sharpie's a Hawk for life.

hawksfan50 07-04-2012 12:29 PM

TSN power ranking as Sharp as the #1 Lw in the league --not going anywhere..

w00d 07-04-2012 12:29 PM

Sharp will be buried in his Blackhawks uniform. He's not going anywhere.

Edit: Before anyone asks why: he just signed a huge contract extension; his no-movement clause kicked in on July 1; he just had a baby; he just bought a new house... the list goes on. He's a Hawk for life.

Same

Well I'd do it for Bobby Ryan too.

I wouldn't do it for Ryan.

Sharp is worth so much more than the 30-30 every year

It says it might happen if the Hawks get Parise, which they didn't.

DCSemi 07-04-2012 12:32 PM

I forgot to put up the source of this quote...

Sorry about that!

Fixed in OP

xX Hot Fuss 07-04-2012 12:32 PM

If I was a heartless ******* I'd trade Sharp for Galchenyuk+ but since I love Sharpie I hope bowman never asks him to waive.

Sharp is a great player locked up for a FANTASTIC caphit. He stays as long as he wants

Well, Bergevin should not care about that.

If he wants Sharp that bad, HE have to come up with something interesting for the Hawks... with of without Pari$e.

I simply dreamt that we could get our hands on Plekanec, which would be an amazing #2C... but! I would not move Sharp either... I love this guy!

Blackhawkswincup 07-04-2012 12:35 PM

Sharp's extension with NTC/NMC just kicked in

Sharp isn't going anywhere under any circumstances in near future

he also just bought a big house in chicago

madgoat33 07-04-2012 12:47 PM

yea, straight up for gomez. Get it done stan

zytz 07-04-2012 12:48 PM

Honestly I know I'm in the minority on this one... but I would move Kane 11/10 times before I moved sharp.

WarriorofTime 07-04-2012 12:48 PM

Just for fun, Pleks + Galchenyuk. Hawks aren't trading Sharp as others have pointed out though. I believe he probably left some money on the table by extending with Chicago. He's a key part of the core and the franchise. We're not the Flyers.

brtriad 07-04-2012 12:49 PM

As someone said, Sharpie is a Hawk for life. He's just as important as Toews, Kane, Keith, and Seabrook to the turnaround of this franchise.

HockeySensible 07-04-2012 12:51 PM

Well, considering this rumor was based off Chicago signing Parise and that's didn't happen, I'd say the rumor is dead..

you're out of your mind.

sharp is easily the first one of the core I move. Well, it would probably be hossa, but his value is about 0 right now.

I'm pretty sure Bergevin don't give a **** if we signed Parise or not if he really wants Sharp 41 times @ Bell Centre.

So I'd say the rumor isn't dead, but it's very unlikely.

The rumor is based off Chicago possibly needing to move salary upon signing Parise to a huge contract.. that didn't happen, Chicago doesn't need to move salary = rumor's dead.

It's not about Bergevin. it's about the Hawks not having to move salary, and without Parise, Sharp is our only top 6 quality LW.

DCSemi 07-04-2012 01:05 PM

Maybe you're right guys, didn't think of it that way.

Still, I'd like Plekanec haha!

Hawks82 07-04-2012 01:29 PM

I can't see Sharp being traded right now. In a couple of seasons...sure...but not now.
