Peter Mueller

Anybody know what he's asking for? I wouldn't mind Hawks signing him to be 2C even though you have to pause at his injury history.

Colorado neglected to qualify him at, what, 2 million? I'd imagine he comes in somewhere in that neighborhood, and I think a lot of teams might see him as a high-risk, high-reward.

On the other hand, I was under the impression that he was not as effective at center--and had basically been moved full-time to wing.

Yes and yes, from a CO fan. Not a center. Can play either wing.

Pierce Hawthorne 07-04-2012 05:00 PM

He's not a Center anymore, and never will play it again. Also a very worrying player, one more bad hit and he could be done. Sucks cause he had all the talent in the world, but Concussions have ruined a potentially great career.

But yea, he's not a Center and never will be.

ndgt10 07-04-2012 05:05 PM

We have Kruger as 2C so IDGAF if he's not considered a center anymore LOL.

Congo Jack 07-04-2012 05:06 PM

He's a winger, not a center

edit: apperently you don't care lol

pld459666 07-04-2012 05:12 PM

was against it as I think this is a type of talent that needs important minutes to be truly effective.

I would hate to invest the time and effort needed for him to gain chemsitry with our top 6 players only to see him get hurt again.

If the Rangers did sign him, I'd want no more than a 2 year deal at 1.75 per.

is he eligable for performance bonuses? or did he play enough games to negate that in this contract?

Flat Stanley 07-04-2012 05:21 PM

I think the Pens should give him a shot, we lost Steve Sullivan (to Phoenix, where I thought Mueller would go).

Completely agree. Can't hurt to sign him for 1-1.5 million on a one year deal. Especially with all this cap space.

lefty2time* 07-04-2012 05:36 PM

I wouldnt mind seeing my Jets take him on..they could use him somewhere in the top 9
they have the cap space and could use a player with his playmaking abilities.
If he craps out due to a bad hit, oh wellz...

Sweech 07-04-2012 05:49 PM

I'd love to see the Jets take a crack at him for one of our RW spots.

I wonder what the holdup to signing him has been. Teams looking up his health records or something?

Mueller to Phoenix? Right after Turris ask to be traded there.

Boondock 07-04-2012 05:55 PM

Would love the Canucks to offer him 2 yrs @ $1.75 to play with Kes and Booth.

This. But that's only if we fail to sign Doan, and also fail to acquire a top 6 winger in the Luongo deal.

Selanne138 07-04-2012 06:42 PM

Would love for Anaheim to take a flyer on him, gives Ryan a legitimate offensive threat to play with.

Doubt we would be interested though unless its later in free agency and no one has picked him up yet, which wont be the case.

falconski 07-04-2012 06:45 PM

will probably be a pickup late for someone looking for a winger after other options are off the table

I hate Rob Blake :(

This is my hope as well.

TheHudlinator 07-04-2012 07:05 PM

I hope Calgary signs him while other teams are still trying to get Semin/Doan

SolidSnakeUS 07-04-2012 07:22 PM

How was he when he came back this past season? Also, is he a hard working guy and is he good in the locker room?

pullyoursocksup 07-04-2012 07:23 PM

seems like every fan would want to take a chance with him playing in the top 6 / 9.

Frenchy 07-04-2012 07:53 PM

if a team has enough cap space , sure they can take a chance on him , but my bet is that he still have some serious concussions problems.

skill was still there, and he put up a decent amount of points, but his endurance was definitely lacking (for obvious reasons).

If he's happy where he is he's fine in the locker room and avs fan never had any issues with his work ethic, though I'm pretty sure yotes fans completely disagree with that.

Mystlyfe 07-04-2012 08:12 PM

Wouldn't mind him on a cheap 1 year deal in Washington. But there are other targets I'd definitely prefer.

johnnyp17 07-04-2012 08:38 PM

I wouldnt mind having him in montreal on a 1 year deal

I agree. Would love to see him sign with the Pens. I really like Mueller and would love to see him rebound after all his concussion and injury issues. I think Pittsburgh would be the perfect place for him. A one year deal worth around $1-2 million would be fair in my opinion.
