Dubnyk signs for 2 years @ 3.5M Cap Hit

NHL_Oilers
#Oilers have agreed to terms with goaltender Devan Dubnyk on a two-year contract

Any guesses on numbers? I'll guess 2 mil per year.

EberleHills90210 07-05-2012 04:30 PM

Who are we kidding, it will be around 3/year

MeestaDeteta 07-05-2012 04:31 PM

I'm gonna guess $2.5M per year.

402 07-05-2012 04:34 PM

Will he be a UFA after these two years ?
Yeah 2-2.5 million per seems reasonable

rockinghockey 07-05-2012 04:34 PM

Can't wait to see the number, who will be next, Petry, Hall, or Eberle? Still haven't signed Yak.

McRib 07-05-2012 04:36 PM

Happy they signed Dubnyk. I think he's a real solid goalie for the future.

Fixed to Ruin 07-05-2012 04:36 PM

Harding is making 1.9 Million.... he's a good comparison

So i'll go 4.25 for 2 years (2.125 cap hit)

SK13 07-05-2012 04:37 PM

I'm going to go with 1.8M.

gooilgo 07-05-2012 04:37 PM

2m per is my guess.

Skm 07-05-2012 04:38 PM

Hahah >$3M ...

EberleHills90210 07-05-2012 04:38 PM

Based off Stauffer's recent tweet, I win.. and that's not a good thing.

BlueChip01 07-05-2012 04:38 PM

I really hope it is just 2M-2.5M even though we are not in a cap crunch.

hockeyaddict101 07-05-2012 04:39 PM

From Stauffer

Tuuka Rask and Cory Schneider deals are comparables for Dubnyk contract numbers

BlueChip01 07-05-2012 04:39 PM

Schneider is a comparable? Look for over 3 years and a good overpayment. LOL

jsho 07-05-2012 04:39 PM

Stauffer just tweeted that Rask and Schneider deals are comparable contracts.....oh god.:help:

Well, we know it's two years... but 3.5-4M is way, way too much.

Like, flush him and find a better Goaltender "too much".

McRib 07-05-2012 04:41 PM

I'll probably get bashed for this, but I don't really think there's much between Schneider and Dubnyk, besides the fact Schneider has been playing on a better team.

awesomo 07-05-2012 04:41 PM

I don't like the sound of that contract comparable

Oops. Meant 3 Million

hockeyaddict101 07-05-2012 04:42 PM

3.5 and 4 million were the comparables.

So I think 3 million for year is going to be close

That is one interesting thing about VAN this year. Still a good team, but Schneider has never had a full workload.

402 07-05-2012 04:42 PM

It better not be more then 2.5 he hasn't prove anything yet

SometimesY 07-05-2012 04:42 PM

are Dubnyk and Schneider comparable? not sure about that.

I agree.

Craig Anderson for example makes approx. 3.2 Million and he's a legit starter.
