Wow, killer deal. Great term, great cap hit.

Elever 07-05-2012 04:32 PM

Ooooh that's a bargain. But think I might have to trade him off my fantasy team cos hard to afford close to $4 M for me with the other guys. Guess I'll be choosing b/t him and Ennis.

But in today's NHL, that term is a bargain. I thought he'd go with something less for 2 yrs and then get a big 5/6 M+ type deal but they got him down for 4 yrs which is good.

DekeLikeYouMeanIt 07-05-2012 04:33 PM

If he stays healthy, it's pretty damn good.

Alklha 07-05-2012 04:33 PM

Considering that he went 21-21-42, a pace of 30-30 if he had played the full season, I'm surprised he signed a 4 year deal at that price. Delighted though, a great deal.

Sweet contract, nice term

sweranger 07-05-2012 04:34 PM

Great signing if he stays healthy!

DBU 07-05-2012 04:34 PM

Very solid deal.

Matt Martin 07-05-2012 04:35 PM

solid deal

Crumblin Erb Brooks 07-05-2012 04:35 PM

Surprising, Armstrong indicated that they wanted Perron on a shorter deal to show that he is past his concussion issues. Im not worried, he came back from it without issue and has been a very durable player besides this.

Im happy though, hes a strong bet to lead our team in points, assuming he can stay healthy (much better chance of that happening than McDonald staying healthy). Filthy hands.

Great deal.

hittes petr sykora 07-05-2012 04:36 PM

great signing.

Mafoofoo 07-05-2012 04:36 PM

Wow good deal for the Blues.

PocketNines 07-05-2012 04:36 PM

Great news, great contract. Next up: Oshie will sign a 4yr 16M deal well before arbitration IMO.

Izzy 07-05-2012 04:39 PM

Surprised we got him this cheap actually.

Yeah, I thought he might sign a shorter deal(1-2 years) at around this amount(3.75-4m), but I'm surprised he accepted a 4 year deal. A 3.81 cap hit for 4 prime years of a player that produces like Perron is a great deal.

HOPE 07-05-2012 04:43 PM

thats a hell of a deal! nice cap hit!

ponder 07-05-2012 04:44 PM

Bargain of a deal compared to most of the contracts handed out in free agency.

stakesishigh 07-05-2012 04:45 PM

This is a real good signing, Perron is a solid player well worth that contract.

bluemandan 07-05-2012 04:47 PM

Doug Armstrong strikes again with another great RFA signing. :handclap:

Wedontneedroads 07-05-2012 04:47 PM

Wow that's a great cap hit. Perron was one of my best mid season fantasy pick ups last year he had a great return. If he stays healthy this will be huge for the Blues over the next few years.

The Western Conference is getting scarier every day. Almost 8 teams that can legitimately contend over the next 5 years and the Blues are solidifying themselves towards the top of that tier.

douglasEfresh45 07-05-2012 04:48 PM

Like the deal. Surprised he got it considering the concussion issues, but glad for him. If he plays like he did last year, there's potential for this deal to be a complete steal.

zachws6 07-05-2012 04:49 PM

The 4 year aspect is excellent. Even after missing more than a season's worth of play, he still progressed last year. We just signed a potential 30 goal scorer for the next 4 years, for 3.8 mil. YES!

UniverStalinGraduate* 07-05-2012 04:49 PM

Great signing for the Blues.
