I'm excited to see how he can respond to his successes of last year.

Confound 07-05-2012 05:02 PM

One of the best last names in the league, right up there with Semin.

Good signing, the guy brings it and is gritty.

Bure 07-05-2012 05:04 PM

Good value

Robert Theodorson 07-05-2012 05:04 PM

Good signing

The NHL should fear the Caps' overpopulation of bottom six players.

MattyMo35 07-05-2012 05:07 PM

I thought he was one of the better Caps players during the playoffs. 900K for 3 years is excellent.

MalcontentCapsFan 07-05-2012 05:08 PM

A great deal to keep Snoopy around another few seasons. It's sad that his whole contract is less than Ward will make this season.

oh and Mike Green signing impending

Fleury14 07-05-2012 05:24 PM

I'm sure he's happy to get his first 1-way deal.

While he got a lot of accolades during the playoffs, he's still a 4th line player with basically no offense. But his FO + PK will keep him in the NHL, much like ex-capital David Steckel.

Zubrus Coffee Maker 07-05-2012 05:27 PM

i always laughed at how often the announcers mentioned Beagle when they played the Rangers in the playoffs  but still, a good player on a cheap contract that solidifies the Cap's bottom 6. might be a longer term than necessary though

Gentle Ben Kenobi 07-05-2012 05:29 PM

Best name in the NHL!

Jules Winnfield 07-05-2012 05:29 PM

Will be interesting to see his role on the team without Hunter.

Hunter loved Beagle more than Ovechkin.

Carlzner 07-05-2012 05:41 PM

Hope he does well without Hunter.

neksys 07-05-2012 05:43 PM

Good cap hit for a good utility player. Slow news day.

DCRedhawk21 07-05-2012 06:08 PM

Solid deal, I've always heard (but no evidence other than that) that he's well liked in the room, and he occupies a useful role.

DJENTLEMAN 07-05-2012 06:31 PM

Very nice contract for a good bottom 6 forward.

Looks like a pretty good deal for Washington. Good faceoff man at under a million.

Mystlyfe 07-05-2012 07:53 PM

Nice cap hit and nice term. Love this.

Dellstrom 07-05-2012 08:05 PM

I will never forget the frustration of him throwing Patrice Bergeron out of the faceoff dot every single time.

DekeLikeYouMeanIt 07-05-2012 09:42 PM

Excellent deal for a very solid 4th liner.
