For the one who asked the source of the Pittsburgh stuff, Josh Yohe of the Pittsburgh Tribune Review, a tweet yesterday and this one today saying similar:

Alex Semin's agent, Mark Gandler: "No question, playing in Pittsburgh would be great. Alex would love to play with either Malkin or Crosby."

Agreed. Time for a change.

Heck, I hope the guy goes and scores 50/50 for the next 5 years.

How is this topical?

They have certainly won the aforementioned individual awards if that is what is important.

See it works both ways because the other proposed lines havent happened. Using your 'did the line that was never used do more?' logic then they shouldnt bother trying to get Semin for Crosby either... after all his line this year did more since the other didnt exist.

Nothing wrong with trying new lines.

This just in from the painfully obvious department.

Pens going to perform like the Caps in 09-10? Buckets of goals with no D?

It's either PIT/NJ/DET. Outside chance COL.

Knock them over with a feather.

I really hope the Devils do not go near Semin, unless it's at an absolute steal.

If not Detroit, NJ seems the most logical option - he'd have a comparable countryman to work with in Kovalchuk as he had with Ovechkin. And NJ will be anxious to replace the offense that Parise took with him.

Real filthy, a veteran who couldn't put over 55 last year, three rookies who couldn't, and Eberle.

Filthy.

That was pretty much the plan last year at the end of the season from Bylsma. You could've interchanged the 2009 Caps in with the Pens last year and it was very similar. We had 5 Mike Green's playing on our team last year.

Maybe in the 12-15 games they get away with it. The other 70 or so those guys will be on the ice bags.

Filthy in terms of speed and skill. This top 6 is not well rounded though.

Pretty much. And, as mentioned, you guys won a Ross, Hart, and Lindsay.

JS19 07-06-2012 05:57 PM

I think Semin would be a very good consolation prize for the Penguins. Gives them more speed on the top-6 and epic offensive talents. PLaying with either of Crosby or Malkin may be exactly what Semin needs in his career.

Azkals 07-06-2012 06:05 PM

It's highly unlikely the Pens sign both Doan and Semin. But this line would be sick.

Semin - Crosby - Doan

Filthy and well balanced with a bit of toughness and raw skill.

Now, that there is how you build a line. Read up Kids.

Maybe you need to re-read what I posted again. 2009 Mike Green - trouble with playing defense in the playoffs. Yeah, we had about 5 defenseman that stood around and played defense like that.

Thinking about what you're reading helps instead of easily pointing out the obvious.

Did you intend for that post to be irritating or was it just an accident?
