Prospect Poll, 2012: #2

And the number one prospect according to the wise folks of the Chicago HF board:

Brandon Saad

#1: Brandon Saad, LW (83.67%)

The next one should be a lot closer. Whose cuisine shall reign supreme??

Teuvo is, very likely, the most talented offensive player in our system. He's an easy #2 behind Saad.

Crazy_Ike 07-06-2012 06:11 PM

I'd be surprised if the next four didn't come down to a battle royale between "shiny and new" (Teravainen), "out of sight out of mind" (McNeill), "tough luck" (Morin), and "last chance" (Beach).

HawksTillDeath 07-06-2012 06:18 PM

for me its a toss up: morin, olsen, mcniel

I'm going to have to go with olsen - he has more NHL experience and definitely hasn't disappointment me

HawksTillDeath 07-06-2012 06:18 PM

I have a hard time picking teuvo without even a rookie camp yet

MagicSlap* 07-06-2012 06:21 PM

Teuvo

teuvo

HockeySensible 07-06-2012 06:25 PM

We have a very clear top-5 IMO. Brandon Saad, Teuvo Teravainen, Mark McNeill, Dylan Olsen and Jeremy Morin. After that, it's a bit more wide-open and there will likely be tons of debate within the top-5; specifically in what order do McNeill, Olsen and Morin go after Teravainen.

Hawkaholic 07-06-2012 06:35 PM

McNeill, again.

No Fun Shogun 07-06-2012 06:37 PM

I'll say McNeill, largely because I haven't seen Teuvo yet.

DisgruntledHawkFan 07-06-2012 06:45 PM

Haven't seen Teuvo yet, but he's my #2.

MurrayBannerman 07-06-2012 06:46 PM

Teuvo

Judrix 07-06-2012 06:58 PM

Olsen. Surest thing we have right now. I think he'll be a solid top 4 d-man...at worst a good bottom pairing guy.

Started well last season, but tailed off. He was thrown into the fire.

clydesdale line 07-06-2012 07:04 PM

Teravainen. IMO, should be #1 based off potential alone.

RomersWorld* 07-06-2012 07:05 PM

Teuvo Teravainen. Perhaps the biggest upside of any prospect in our system. Such great skill and only 17 years old right now, so he could still grow and put on weight. He was born like 5 days before the cutoff, so he is almost like a 2013 draft pick. I think he is 3 years away but he'll be a dynamo IMO.

HockeySensible 07-06-2012 07:11 PM

Just noticed, no need to include Dido in the next poll.. he wasn't qualified by the Blackhawks and is now a UFA. He could return to Rockford on an AHL deal, but he isn't/won't be Blackhawks property anymore. Same goes for Danis-Pepin.

TorMenT 07-06-2012 08:17 PM

Teravainen for his ceiling.

Gootie 07-06-2012 08:20 PM

Olsen

ChiGuySez 07-06-2012 10:42 PM

TiVo. Listed him as #2 in my top 20 so Im picking him here but thats as my post draft ranking.

Cullksinikers 07-06-2012 10:46 PM

Going to have to go with TT based on the potential and the set of skills the kid possesses already at 17.

Good riddance.

This one is McNeill for me. I won't vote for Teuvo until I see him.

Rexy 07-07-2012 12:09 AM

How does Teuvo get all these votes without anyone ever seeing him play?

MagicSlap* 07-07-2012 12:10 AM

I've read extensive scouting reports on him and have checked into what actual scouts think of his game. I've come to conclusions that way, I'd trust their eyes more than my own to be honest.

he's still going to be a number of years away, and has never played on NHL sized ice.

People can use whatever standard for what makes someone a "top prospect" they wish, including long term high end potential.
