Voracek signed a multi-year pact (4 years, $17m per media reports; updates in #107)

Voracek didn't opt for salary arbitration and Homer latest comment was that he'll get signed eventually. I haven't seen any news about their negotiations.

Anyone else feel the longer this takes the more they'll have to pay him or the more likely he is to be part of a trade package?

I had pegged him for $3.25m a season. Now his agent will have some contracts to compare to that may get that bumped up.
-Jagr 4.55m
-N.Foligno 3.08m
-Perron 3.8m

Voracek in my opinion is more valuable than any of those guys. Any updates?

I don't think Jagr's contract will affect his contract.. That's a first ballot hall of fame player.. Not a guy who has only gotten to 50 points once..

I see him getting anywhere from 3.5m to 4.2m

RJ8812 07-07-2012 06:10 PM

between Perron and Foligno IMO

3.5-4M. I really want us to luck up this guy. Like him a lot!

Giroux tha Damaja 07-07-2012 07:23 PM

Mid three's right up to UFA would be a great deal for the Flyers.

Dangles McGavin 07-08-2012 09:04 PM

Man I'm a huge fan of Voracek. You guys have some filthy young talent. The Carter and Richards trades were ballsy as hell but will pay off BIG time as soon as next year.

And is a different market

healthyscratch 07-08-2012 09:12 PM

Maybe the holdup is a NTC that Homer isn't willing to give. :D

flyersguy33* 07-08-2012 09:15 PM

on the news this morning they said that Holmgren and Voracek's agent have been talking since last week and that they are close on a new deal. They say the agent spoke to the news sports guy. I dont know why the agent would, but take it for what its worth. No monetary figure was thrown out

pughater 07-08-2012 09:25 PM

petr said jagr got 21 offers too are you really buying that. 21 offers would be just about every team except 9

Yep, that's math.

Yes. We really do. Which is why trading it all for Nash or Ryan is beyond stupid.

GoneFullHolmgren 07-08-2012 09:58 PM

he turned down salary arbitration because he wants a multi year deal IMO. He signed a 1 year deal last summer.
3 years/11 million is what I will guess if I had to throw a number out there.

Damaged Goods 07-08-2012 10:33 PM

I think he took a while to get signed last summer too.

McNasty 07-08-2012 11:31 PM

Voracek's camp wants a multi year deal, the Flyers want a shorter term so he can prove himself. Not that unusual. I would expect a 2 year deal in the 3mil per range.

This.

I expect him to be re-signed relatively soon though and to a multi-year contract this time around. I think he'll be getting in the 3.5+ per range.

FadeToBlack 07-09-2012 09:26 AM

JVR got over 4 and I don't think he's as good as Voracek was as the end of last year. I can't see Jakub taking less than 4 per.

Dekes of Hazzard 07-09-2012 09:48 AM

I'd be surprised if he took less than $4M per, either way I'm a big fan and hope he signs soon.

The JVR contract bought (iirc) 2 years of unrestricted free agency. If Voracek were to concede a few years of unrestricted free agency in his extension, I could see him getting 4.25 or more. If the Flyers are just buying out the RFA years, it will be less than 4M per imo.

BillyShoe1721 07-09-2012 10:26 AM

They said on 6 ABC News last night that either Holmgren or Voracek's camp told them that they expect a deal to get done soon. I forget which side it was. Not a typical source, but take it for what it's worth.

FlyersFanz 07-09-2012 10:38 AM

Sign him Homer!

GoneFullHolmgren 07-09-2012 11:06 AM

hopefully flyersguru doesnt come in this thread making any gaurantees. we all know how that went the last time it happened:sarcasm:

cheesesteak 07-09-2012 11:35 AM

Could they get him 6 years 3.75-4.00m? Why let him build more value? I feel comfortable Voracek is at least a 40-50 point player who brings other good things too, and he can stay healthy...Voracek only missed 9 games in his first 4 NHL seasons.

I can see Voracek being worth between 3 or 4mil a year, he's 22 years old and has shown some get great speed and hands.

Viller 07-09-2012 12:03 PM

If hes making 4.0 to 4.5 then I wont feel as bad when they trade him for Ryan. for 0.6 to 1.1 more, Id take Ryan.
