Montreal-Minnesota

To Montreal:
MATT KASSIAN
CLAYTON STONER

To Minesota:
RAPHAEL DIAZ
YANNICK WEBER
AARON PALUSHAJ

Terrible for the Wild

Blind Gardien 07-08-2012 09:57 PM

Minnesota doesn't seem to need defense depth. They seem to have more than an ample supply. Stoner is good in his role, and the Habs could use a player like him. Whereas the team would have no need/room for Kassian. But anyway, it's too much potential for the Habs to give up for the solid role player in Stoner. Pass.

Dr Swag 07-08-2012 10:07 PM

Who are these players lol...

Seem like a lateral trade at best.

ewoksonhoth 07-08-2012 10:11 PM

No, we need to keep that grit and there's no reason to trade for depth on the blueline at the moment.

Skog0157 07-08-2012 10:13 PM

Wild can't flip both of those guys after snagging them away from UFA status :shakehead:.

mkearney913 07-08-2012 10:13 PM

Did I miss the boat or something? I thought Montreal was still very high on Palushaj.

ewoksonhoth 07-08-2012 10:19 PM

Markov for Bouchard purely for the lulz?

montreal should be, but habs board isn't. it's the "lulz y he no score 30 on the fourth line with blunden and nokelainen/gomez" he sux

he's done in the AHL, time for him to get some proper icetime with non-blackhole talent-sucking linemates and see what he can do

Benny FTW 07-08-2012 11:03 PM

Are there any Montreal proposal that dont include atleast 1 of them?

Wild48 07-08-2012 11:21 PM

I don't think either team does this deal. Stoner and Kassian are insurance for Granlund (and to a lesser extente parise)

Stoenr, Kassian, Konpoka and Powe make up a group of 4 guys who will punch your face in if you touch our stars.

Wild don't trade either of the guys they just signed contracts to this offseason.

IHaveNoCreativity 07-09-2012 12:02 AM

We could work something out... For like Prosser..

Billy Mays Here 07-09-2012 12:41 AM

No thank you. We need our grit and both Stoner and Kassian provide a lot of it.

Northland Wild Man 07-09-2012 01:05 AM

No thanks

Agreed. These are our top guys for grit (with Clutter). Much needed.

Counter: Prosser and Ortmeyer for Weber and Palushaj?

nickschultzfan 07-09-2012 08:45 AM

Big no thanks from the Wild. The Wild like that they can now mix it up against any team.

Kassian, Konopka, Clutterbuck, Stoner, Powe, Scandella, Mitchell, and Falk can be as physical as any team in the league.

Circulartheory 07-09-2012 08:49 AM

I thought Weber was supposed to be a very good, up-and-coming offensive defenseman for the Habs. Did something happen?

Mostly what happened is that Markov came back, Subban was better, and then they traded for Kaberle. Oh yeah, and Diaz showed up out of nowhere and was also at least as good as Weber. Then Weber became a bit redundant in the mix. He has had moments of goodness and lesser moments, pretty much as one might want to expect from a young non-stud defense prospect, so standard fan impatience is a part of the equation, but more than anything else his perceived redundancy puts him in almost every Habs fan's trade proposals on this board.

Minnesota 07-09-2012 11:49 AM

I'm interested in the players Montreal is offering, but Minnesota can't get rid of our two most physically punishing players.

One Man Rock Band 07-09-2012 02:59 PM

I'd love Stoner, but not at that price.

Palushaj still has top-6 potential, IMO. Diaz can easily become a Top-4 defenseman. Weber... well he's a wildcard - it depends which version of Weber shows up for the games.

Not happening since Ortmeyer is now a FA.
