Michigan game on TV tonight

Just saw it it now, I figure I'd give you guys the heads up now, MSG is carrying the Michigan-W. Michigan game tonight and give you a chance to catch Montoya, figure it would be something to watch because by then the Jets should be down three touchdowns. :D (Sorry, I can't help myself being a Dolphin fan :banghead: )

Id rather have MSG put on the Wolfpack game

Its nice to see the college prospects play, but at least the Wolfpack have more rangers prospects and are a step closer to the NHL.

Balej20* 01-08-2005 12:16 PM

Yeah i'd rather see the pack play as well..

Lets hope Montoya will now turn around his year here.

Any news of any other Wolfpack games being shown besides the one vs the Riverrats on the 14th?

Kovy274Hart 01-08-2005 04:52 PM

Montoya allowed 4 goals to Western Michigan last night (3 PP). Michigan won 6-4.

Levitate 01-08-2005 06:47 PM

bronco's score first...scrum in front

michigan defenders did a horrible job of taking out the men in front. only chance montoya would have had is to cover the puck, and he was trying but the attacking forwards had all kinds of whacks at it and he couldn't get it. 2 guys in the crease whacking at the puck and the defense was useless :shakehead

Well he can get used to the Rangers kind of defense. :lol

Firefly 01-08-2005 06:54 PM

1-1 game, PP goal.

Levitate 01-08-2005 06:55 PM

michigan scores on the PP to make it 1-1 Gajic from Hensik

man Hensik is just quick and fast...can really move

Levitate 01-08-2005 07:04 PM

montoya makes a few good saves on some stuff shots...then a scrum breaks out and you can hear little kids in the background chanting "fight! fight! fight! fight!" :lol

Levitate 01-08-2005 07:08 PM

2-1 broncos on the PP

pretty passing play across ice on the rush...montoya might have been able to move fast enough to get it but it was just a nice play in all

Firefly 01-08-2005 07:12 PM

Yeah Al didn't have much of a chance on that one, the play was perfect.

Levitate 01-08-2005 07:12 PM

announcers just said they thought montoya looked physically and emotionally tired last night

bronco's goalie is down, looksl ike he hurt his leg, but is getting up now

Firefly 01-08-2005 07:57 PM

Montoya playing very well, and what a 3rd goal by UM!! 3-2 UM.

Firefly 01-08-2005 08:01 PM

4-2 Um.

Firefly 01-08-2005 08:03 PM

Wow, opening up a can now. 4 unanswered goals by UM, they now lead 5-2 on a Tambellini goal.

Firefly 01-08-2005 08:05 PM

Big save on the breakaway by Montoya. :handclap:

Firefly 01-08-2005 08:13 PM

Screened shot from the point after a clean face off win beats Montoya, 5-3 UM.

Firefly 01-08-2005 08:18 PM

Just came unraveled for UM on the PP, Broncos score with 2 seconds left in the second period. General collapse in the UM zone and someone coming out of the corner roofed it right over a crouched Montoya. 5-4 UM.

Montoya apparently took offense to this and put one of the celebrating Broncos players who hung around his goal in a headlock (according to the announcers).

Levitate 01-08-2005 08:24 PM

montoya will probably get ripped again for these goals but i can't really blame him...he's been hung out to dry by his defense 3 times and the other goal was a complete screen...

that last one, they let the guy go right to the front and roof it...maybe montoya stops it if he was out a little bit more but he didn't blow it...those are the kind of goals that go in a lot of the time and his defense needs to be better to him

but no one will care probably and just say he sucks :shakehead

He's looked much better tonight and had a number of big saves. I'm impressed.

With regard to the WJC, my criticism had more to do with Montoya's overall comfort level in the tournament. He never settled in and looked awkward even making routine stops. Sometimes it's important to look beyond the goals he lets up and just look at his overall play.

BTW, I've liked Hensick alot the 6 or 7 times I've seen him. He's quick, a great stickhandler, and can pass and shoot extremely well. I'd have no problems with the Rangers taking him in the second round, provided he's still available.

Levitate 01-08-2005 08:35 PM

yeah i agree...montoya didn't look comfortable a lot of times in the WJC...it was kinda weird, sometimes he would, and then he'd lose it...the announcers have been going on about him being tired mentally and physically

and hensik is easily the best skater out there tonight...he's so fast and so quick. definatly would be a good 2nd round pick

Levitate 01-08-2005 08:39 PM

montoya starts the third with a big save...
