1.St.louis
2.LA
3.van
4.Chi
5.minny
6.san Jose
7.detroit
8.Calgary
9.dallas
10.colorado
11.nashville
12.phx
13.edmonton
14.anaheim
15. Columbus

East:
1.Pittsburgh
2.Boston
3.carolina
4.flyers
5.rangers
6.sabres
7.washington
8.Ottawa
9.Winnipeg
10.florida
11.tampa
12.montreal
13.Toronto
14.montreal
15.islanders

In b4 you get bashed for having Flames in the playoffs.

The Zetterberg Era 07-10-2012 02:13 AM

Seems like the wrong place for this thread.

NHL discussion thread not trade board would seem better.

Sweech 07-10-2012 02:14 AM

You put Montreal in twice, I assume one is New Jersey.

Flamesarmstrong22 07-10-2012 02:15 AM

Yea I realized after I finished this thread that A) it's in the wrong thread. And B) this discussion could be had in the "new playoff teams" thread. Matters well just close the thread

@mrdonkey
I really don't care if i get bashed for saying it. Everyone has their own opinion and I think the flames have a decent team. Not saying they will go far in the playoffs, but I think they will make it.

Over Dalls and Colorado? LOL

Fan is short for Fanatic.. So we are all in the same boat riding the same wave in the end. The difference is some are riding is reality and some are riding in the drool on their pillow in the middle of the night.

Thanks for the entertainment. Classic

This has about as much chance at being accurate as the dude claiming Nash to NYR is done and will be announced today.

thadd 07-10-2012 02:38 AM

It's too early and your predictions are hilarious.

Staal is not nearly enough to make Carolina a better team than Washington.

St. Louis needs a number of players to play 30-40% better for the Blues to win the West. Vancouver is a beast in the regular season and there's no reason to believe that it won't be the same next year. Whatever Vancouver gets of Luongo, it's going to make them a better team than they already were.

lakai17 07-10-2012 02:44 AM

Switch Carolina with Tampa due to Stamkos and what Stevie Y has done this offseason.

Switch Calgary with Edmonton due to the young guns tearing apart defenceman game in, game out.

Switch St.louis with Vancouver.

IMO the NW division got better as a whole while the Central got worse. I would expect all their division opponents to take a few more points from Vancouver and at least one of the other teams to make the playoffs. Det and Nsh currently are worse than they were before while CHI and CLB are about the same. It isn't hard to see STL winning the West considering the season they just had finishing only 2 points behind Vancouver.

Arpi3080 07-10-2012 04:27 AM

Don't be suprised if the Stars will achieve the Playoffs this year.

Eriksson - Benn - Jagr
Whitney - Roy - Ryder

This Top6 is one of the best in the west, lots of experience.

Hopefully they old guys stay healthy.

Spectator 07-10-2012 05:43 AM

Switch San Jose and LA in the standings.

DevilChuk* 07-10-2012 09:11 AM

You do realize that St. Louis finished 2 points behind Vancouver, right? That a difference of less than 2%.

MetalheadPenguinsFan 07-10-2012 09:48 AM

Pittsburgh at #1 in the East....

Yeah not with this current roster.

Other players will need to pick up the slack considerably if their goalies regress to their mean, which is likely.

WJG 07-10-2012 10:50 AM

I think the Flyers will finish 7th or 8th in the East.

Losing JVR and Jagr while gaining Schenn is a step back IMO. The loss of Bobrovsky as insurance in case Bryzgalov is awful is also a concern.

However, if they trade for Ryan or Nash, I think they win the Atlantic.

buckridesagain* 07-10-2012 11:41 AM

Anaheim Ducks 2013 Stanley Cup Champions. You heard it here first.

The goalies' numbers last year had much more to do with the defense than themselves. It's not like they were stealing games left and right, they were consistently facing 25 shots or fewer.
