STL Interested in Brenden Morrow + NYR, SJ, and LA
According to Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Dallas Stars might be talking to teams about moving Brenden Morrow.

If LA strikes out on Doan I could see it happening. What's the asking price?
|
What would the cost be Dallas fans? Doesn't seem he's a top 6 guy anymore there.
|
I would take Morrow on the Rangers. Likely for Dubinsky. Fair for both and Dallas does not seem to be afraid in taking salary back

His primary goal is to get younger, and Dubninsky brings many of Morrow's intangibles to the table. I just don't believe the Rangers would realistically offer him. |
My best guess would be Dallas is looking for an improvement on defense, and they'd probably be willing to package him with Mark Fistric or Stephane Robidas (NTC needs to be a contender ... just like Morrow).

I dont know that Id have much interest in Morrow, not neccesarily against it though. It all depends on the price.

One roster player I could see Dallas wanting would be Joe Vitale. |

What about Morrow to St. Louis for Cole?

You have to understand that yeah Morrow scored 30+ goals just a year ago, but this most recent season he also faced significant injury issues and discipline issues. In terms of value, think you have to believe this most recent year has a fairly significant impact on his value. That said, you have to assume Dallas could logically hold on to Morrow for now and let his value build in the season. It's a gamble, but it's better than taking scraps. If he even has just 10 to 15 goals by the trade deadline, you're probably talking a solid pick and possibly even a player coming back. Therefore, if you want to make a legitimate trade right now, it has to be one that improves the Dallas Stars right now. The team acquiring him would be taking a big risk. I'm not a big fan of the Pittsburgh fan offering Paul Martin, but that's at least realistic from Dallas' POV. I don't like it because Dallas gets softer, and the D in Big D are already pretty small and not too physical. The upside from Dallas' POV is GMJN wants to build a solid skating D with good puck skills (especially in the transition game). Martin brings some of that to the table. I'd be more comfortable with a deal around Morrow and Robidas for Martin than Fistric (Dallas' most physical D) going the other way. |

Na, but really, I'd take just about anything. I just want him out of the way. He won't be top six(thankfully) and I don't want him in the way of other guys' chances on the third line. Top four dman would be nice. |

Don't expect Dallas to win the trade. Joe has horrible player values.

How about Morrow to St.Louis for a 2013 2nd, Roman Pojak and Vladimir Sobotka?
|
Morrow for Polak?
|
If I'm Dallas, I want Despres.

Would love, love, love for the Bruins to go after Morrow. Slots in on the 3rd line LW, and could probably be had for Caron and a 2013 2nd rounder or something. At least, that's probably as far as I'd be willing to go, as Caron was rounding into the 3rd line winger Boston needs at the end of the season.

Morrow for Eaves + 3rd?
