I think I love Pantera more and more every day.

Perfect mix of melodic and aggressive, sick breakdowns, sicker solos, vocals that fall nicely in between clean and sludgey. It's everything you want in a metal band.

Obligatory:

Kreator's new album is freaking great.

I fail to see how a band that is widely considered one of the most influential metal bands of all time, with one of the greatest metal guitarists of all time can be considered knuckle-dragging.

You can come up with any excuse you want as to why you think Pantera sucks. Fact of the matter is alot of metal fans resent popularity. Always have and always will.

Every year my favourite Metallica song changes. This year it's "Sanitarium".

Machinehead 07-13-2012 01:53 AM

So...thoughts on the Randy Blythe situation?

vippe 07-13-2012 02:33 AM

Not exactly metal but close enough. I managed to see Refused this past weekend. Long time favorite band who has returned and oh did they deliver. Played pretty much every song I wanted. Also saw Trash Talk that was an amazing live-act and not to forget Crowbar. They played at 3am in the morning I was very drunk and half asleep when I got there and they started playing and it was probably one of the heaviest things I have heard in a very long time in the live. Amazing.

It's a ****ing ridiculous situation is what it is. It's absolutely pathetic how they can hold him and reject his bail etc. yet he hasn't even been formally charged with anything yet.

Apparantly however, he'll have another bail hearing on Thursday, July 19th:

Been on a KMFDM kick lately. Not strictly metal, but I still like it.

MetalheadPenguinsFan 07-14-2012 03:47 PM

I've been in a Southern Sludge metal mood today. So I've been jammin' a bunch of Crowbar and Eyehategod. :yo: :yo:

Even though I usually listen to Eyehategod everyday anyways.

Anticipating the new Katatonia album something fierce.

Last time I checked, Death, Deceased, Pantera, Lamb Of God, Crowbar, and Eyehategod were real metal Sir.

In any case, I see your Pentagram and raise you some Crowbar:

Pure ****ing sludge!!!! :yo:

cynicism 07-15-2012 11:49 AM

And I raise your eyehategod and Crowbar with some Grief :yo:

Maiden on Friday was ****ing awesome. I missed Alice Cooper but Maiden made up for it.

Set list was something like this (not the exact order):
Moonchild
Can I Play With Madness
The Prisoner
Afraid to Shoot Strangers
The Trooper
2 Minutes to Midnight
The Evil that Men do
Phantom of the Opera
The Clairvoyant
Fear of the Dark
Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
Running Free
Aces High
Iron Maiden
Number of the Beast
Run to the Hills.

I almost came when they played Seventh Son. One of my fav Maiden tunes

Wish they had an extra 45 minutes so they could've fit in Powerslave, Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Hallowed be thy Name and stuff from Killers

My condolences, Alice Cooper puts on an amazing show, sucks that you had to miss it.

So (((unartig))) is pretty much the most awesome thing ever. Great video of a bunch of great bands playing NYC. Both on youtube and vimeo.

Yeah I remember back in high school I was beyond stoked because Alice was coming here (and for Timmins this was huge as we never get any concerts here ever).

Sadly a week before the show I got puenomia and couldn't go. :(

Although about a week later my math teacher told me that he met Alice when he was here at a golf course. I thought that was neat as I know Alice does golf alot.
