Curse you Anaheim :sarcasm:

smitty10 07-12-2012 01:03 PM

Very nice. Hope he continues to play!

MadDog172430 07-12-2012 01:03 PM

Shocked!

surprising he doesnt care about rings these days.

Drouin2Stamkos 07-12-2012 01:04 PM

Im curious why does he like it there so much? I know who wouldnt like southern Cal and the nice weather but is it family? Their team isnt close to winning a cup anytime soon.

airforceones25 07-12-2012 01:04 PM

Jets fans never had a chance! ;)

why, he already has his. with him now it is all about being happy playing the game he loves, and comfort with the city he knows and loves i guess.

zachws6 07-12-2012 01:05 PM

Begin career and end it with 76 goal seasons?

Rolfeezy 07-12-2012 01:06 PM

O ya

MadDog172430 07-12-2012 01:06 PM

Joking aside, I love Teemu and hope he continutes to put up some incredible numbers for a guy his age.

that would be messed up, but after a 76 goal season would you really retire? lol

I think he cares about that one from 07, but I'm not 100% sure on that

Shrimper 07-12-2012 01:07 PM

Love Teemu and glad he's got another year. Seriously think that he could continue until he's 45. He probably won't stop until he struggles to keep up and put up around 20 points. Reckon he'll put around 80 points this year.

Cool. I respect that.

Fans and family. He wont let the fanbase down. He has said he loves them in Anaheim and after all he has been through they have still cheered for him. He loves the city and doesnt want to move at this stage of his career. I dont know what is so odd about it.

one year, $4.5 million for Selanne, per Ducks.

Evgeny Oliker 07-12-2012 01:08 PM

Not surprised

Overpayment :sarcasm:

FallsForItEveryYear 07-12-2012 01:09 PM

good for anaheim and good for Selanne. you got to respect a guy who loves where he plays and is loyal to them rather than end his career as a mercenary.

(although id love he to be a mercenary and have signed with boston for a chance at the cup)

KenWu 07-12-2012 01:09 PM

Teemu loves it in SoCal, where the fans are crazy for him yet don't invade his personal space. Nice golf weather. Although his wife would'dve been ok with him signing with Winnipeg, his son is playing high school hockey now and I'm sure he wants to be around for most of the games. I'd say he also feels somewhat loyal to the Ducks for giving him that 2nd chance coming off of knee surgery, which ultimately lead to him winning the Stanley Cup. Also, the Ducks have pretty much told Selanne that he has a front office job with them after he is done playing, so that just means more loyalty to the Ducks.

He's the Brett Favre of hockey.
