Desharnais to the North

http://www.nunatsiaqonline.ca/pub/ph...nais_1_570.jpg

Not sure where to put this so....

David Desharnais, visited Kangirsuk (Northern Quebec) recently on a fishing trip. Here, he's posing July 11 with children from the Kangirsuk day camp, he's not much taller than the kids, never realized how small he actually is.

Kangirsuk is about 140 miles from Kuujjuaq, where another former Canadien, Joe Juneau currently resides.

I'm pretty sure he was adding Desharnais in the mix for laughs

LyricalLyricist 07-16-2012 09:33 AM

He's gonna be part of an all-pro tournament near QC city before training camp.

Jeez this board is bitter these days. I'm not sure about DD the next 5 years, but who cares, he takes pride in the CH, and he goes and does stuff like this. Meanwhile, I drink Martinis and complain about the heat in Hong Kong. Good for him. Un Vrais Gars. Love the guy.

I wonder how much of this board isn't from/residing in North America. It's more than I thought.

RaMMuT 07-16-2012 09:48 AM

You can make fun of him all you want I actually thought it was pretty funny

But DD probably has the best vision on our whole team, none of our players have his hockey IQ...

WAYNEEEEEEE!!!!

PricePkPatch 07-16-2012 09:50 AM

Hey. We make fun of DD's size, but we still love the kind of player he is.

Good for him.

I love when our guys do thoughtful things like this! Probably made some of those kids really happy!

Good on you David!!!

Markov yes. Plekanec no. Desharnais has superior Offensive vision than plekanec.

I love Desharnais and I actually couldn't find him in the picture for about 5-seconds. Talk about a "Where's Waldo?" .. they could make a lot of money selling yearbooks with Desharnais in group photos "Where's David?!"

LyricalLyricist 07-16-2012 11:48 AM

The message inside the poster made me lol. "Come back to Kangirsuk soon with PK Subban"

Very much doubt Cole and Pac score 30+ with Plek. They did with DD, and that's with a bad transition game and a horrible PP.

What Plekanec lacks to be as good as Desharnais offensively is not vision but raw talent.

I tend to disagree. Desharnais isn't a flashy player. Plekanec has more flair than DD. Desharnais has been an offensive force at every level and it wasn't because of game breaking speed or toedrags, between the legs moves or whatever. He has great vision. It's not to discount Plekanec's ability or vision, but I just think DD has better vision. I understand if others feel Plekanec has more, but I just disagree with the notion I guess.
