Just replacing McKenna.

Lehners back up methinks.

He's actually pretty good, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a lot of games when Lehner goes through his inconsistent lulls.

SNAPshot 07-16-2012 12:41 PM

Holy goaltender depth, Batman.

mat_sens 07-16-2012 01:09 PM

Lehner will be playing at least 60 games in the A this year. I still think he'll be the best goalie at camp though

Well this is the year for Lehner to prove he's ready to be promoted to NHL backup. Bishop is up for a contract renewal after this season, so it'll be up to Lehner to force Murray's hand to make a decision.

Iamok 07-16-2012 01:21 PM

I was literally going over Bingo options for the backup yesterday. I feel special.

Edit: Now I remember him. We played against him twice 2 years ago.

Well, let's start planning the parade boys.

Good depth move. Pushes Lehner while giving Bingo some more depth.

Lenny the Lynx 07-16-2012 01:25 PM

Probably a sign and trade

We have 4 goalies filling 4 spots...

GoSensGo765 07-16-2012 02:32 PM

The "let's plan the parade" jokes are so stupid and overdone. This is solid depth signing. Assuming Lehner plays 55-60 games next season with another 5-7 in the NHL that leaves Lawson with a decent 20-25 games to fill in. He's certainly capable of that.

I think we even see him up with the Sens for a few games on injury replacement.

I realized that after I made the post, but the urge to include Batman in all things Sens was too good to pass up.

My apologies.

QuietOnTheFront 07-16-2012 03:14 PM

Maybe Lawson and Turris can re-acquaint themselves..

That was a dirty goal. And at least we know Lawson doesn't like to lose....

Rumcajs 07-16-2012 04:23 PM

Didn't the sens destroy this guy one game. I think Spezza slapped one from a ridiculous angle on him.

BonkTastic 07-16-2012 04:31 PM

Not sure how much Lawson is really going to "push" Lehner. Not much of a threat for starts... which is probably by design.

All things being said though, there are FAR worse AHL backups out there. The guy has put up some pretty respectable numbers in that league.

Goat Boy 07-16-2012 04:34 PM

Definitely a guy we can trust to hold the Bingo fort if Lehner needs to do spot duty in the big league. All you ask for. Good signing.

Beville 07-16-2012 04:39 PM

At first I thought, da frick?

then I realised that actually, this signing doesn't mean much really... Just someone to "push" (and I use that word lightly) Lehner to going into BEAST mode for the whole season...

Ouroboros 07-16-2012 05:10 PM

If Brust and McKenna can outplay Lehner then I don't see why Nathan Lawson couldn't.

Fenix Rises 2026 07-16-2012 05:18 PM

The Lehnsanity is getting a bit silly around here.
