Anyways, happened on 26 May. Looks like sentencing was today, 20 month driving ban.

What I pulled from that was he can't drive for 20 months, is on probation for a year... What's this suspended sentence thing? Or is it he's only driven for 20 months, can't drive for 6, and is on probation for a year after that?

No issues. One season in Winnipeg and already he isn't expecting others to actually stop at stop signs... fits right in.

For the most part, only hockey related effect I see could be entry into Canada and US (repeatedly) depending on how DUI is treated in the Czech Rep.

If it's a driving offence it's no biggie, if it's criminal code it could be an issue. That being said with the date it happened TNSE would have known about it during negotiations, I'm sure this was covered off at that time (whether it would be an issue).

Surprised we didn't hear about this earlier, pretty disappointing from Pavs.

Not trying to pick fights but this sort of behaviour really should be condemned more than it has in the first 20 posts of this thread, regardless of sports team allegiance.

Really? talking in absolutes like that isn't necessary, we have very few details here. The perspective here at the hockey forums is on the hockey ramifications, so I don't think complete condemnation is required here (there are other forums out there for that).

Not that anyone supports drinking and driving, but remember where you are and what the main topic of the forum is.
