Wrote a column on Pacioretty that was published yesterday. Probably not a ton of new information to you, but I took a look at both the qualitative and quantitative. Got some quotes from a few Habs bloggers, too.

IIRC He finished 4th in the NHL for ESG after Stamkos, Gaborik and someone else.

Patches has the potential of becoming a star player, and if he consecutive seasons like last year, he will become one no doubt.

Pacioretty is one of the few bright spots on our team. With the work ethic he has, the attitude, and the skill, I don't see how he won't hit 40 goals at least once during his tenure with us.

He scored more goals last season than Guy Lafleur did in his first or second NHL season.However, I wouldn't be so rash as to extrapolate from that.

I admit, I once included him in a trade proposal... but for a struggling Malkin... I don't regret it :sarcasm:

this is hands down my favourite quote from that old thread about pac's for frovlov that was posted above :

Max could be a 40 goal scorer he missed many chances last year and still finished with 33 goals

With Galchenyuk and in a couple of year (he's only 23, let's not forget that) He could clearly becombe a perrenial 40 goals scorers.

we had a grabage pp last year too, hopefully markov can stay healthy, if he does I see Patches scoring at least 35

And inversely Galchenyuk could be a .ppg player setting up Pacs and potting in a few of his own ;). I see lots of secondary assists in Subban's future!

If he continue shooting the puck at this rate, odds are he'll get at one point a lucky shot % streak and score 40+ goals in a season.

He's probably not going to have such a monster year at ES scoring though The two should balance each other out and keep him about equal rather than the PP carrying him higher. I'd say another 30 goal year is in the cards though and that's nothing to sneeze at.
