Buffalo signs Grigorenko

Sabres now have both first round picks on the books. Looks like a big youth movement up the middle in buffalo.

Perfect_Drug 07-18-2012 09:01 AM

He's gonna make 13 teams look ridiculous for letting him drop like that in the draft.

Chainshot 07-18-2012 09:01 AM

So much for the clamour about him bolting to the KHL.

 I love this guy.

AfroThunder396 07-18-2012 09:16 AM

He didn't look ready from what I saw at the prospect development camp, I think another year in Juniors would do him good.

McTankel 07-18-2012 09:24 AM

So HAPPY we got Grigs and Girgs Signed!!! :yo::yo::yo:

dfk711* 07-18-2012 09:33 AM

Good to see him signed

Reign Nateo 07-18-2012 09:46 AM

Smart to get him signed early. Even if he's not in Buffalo next year, you don't have to worry about getting him signed later on...

Our center depth says otherwise.

Agreed. The skills are evident, but he's got to fill out more. No point in rushing him, either.

SuperNintendoChalmrs 07-18-2012 09:48 AM

Didn't have to gas up the jet. :sarcasm:

GM17* 07-18-2012 09:48 AM

took longer because they had to work out his pension details :sarcasm:

Leaf Rocket 07-18-2012 09:57 AM

Really wanted this guy, glad he is signed. Going to be a pain in the ass to play against though.

Halpysback* 07-18-2012 09:58 AM

Settle down. I'm pretty certain that Edmonton, Columbus and Montreal won't break a sweat over it. And that's just the obvious ones.

On topic, good for Buffalo. It's good for them to get bigger and more skilled in the center position in a one year turnaround.

Or he could make the 8* teams look like geniuses.

I think it was pretty obvious that Yakupov, Murray and Galchenyuk would go top three. They don't regret it one bit.

Then there are teams like Minny, Anaheim, and the Islanders who already had top line centers in Koivu, Getzlaf, and Tavares and prospects like Granlund, Strome, etc.

Those teams were looking specifically at getting defense, so cross them out.

So subtract another 3. So about 3-5 teams will look like geniuses or regret not taking him.
