Building (buying?) an equipment tree
I'm looking at either building an equipment tree out of PVC, or buying something if it's cheap. Does anyone have pictures of theirs so I can get some ideas, any tips you picked up while making one? Any general advice for one

Im thinking about making one with all the broken sticks Ive been collecting
|
I want one of those Rocket Sport dryers. Looks sweet.

i made one with old sticks and just used shelving brackets from home depot to secure it. i dont have it anymore i gave it to a friend but i could draw you a picture if you really wanted to see it. I used 4 or 5 sticks, took me maybe 1.5 hours |

Also wouldn't mind any other reviews for that eBay tree.
Oh one of them looks like it might be made locally. Worth a call... |
I built my own and i love it. It is rock solid. I got the instructions from here:
http://hockey-university.com/archives/623 It is a nice set of instuctions that includes quantity of what needs to be purchased. This whole thing only cost me $25 at Lowes |
Thanks for the link.
I have a Shock Doctor blower, so maybe if I can build a tree I can rig it up. That would be nice as it is a fan with heat and ozone on a timer. |

I have this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/sports-equip...ht_3111wt_1059
I am sure you could build it yourself for cheaper as it is just PVC pipes, but I decided to spend the extra $10-$15 to have someone do it for me. I have no complaints when it comes to my tree. The way I looked at it is it was about $30 and you can pretty much keep it for life. |
Thoughts on the first two that were posted? Both have air movers, does that help a lot, a little, at all? My gear doesn't stink too bad, but it would be nice to help it dry a little faster as sometimes I'll play back to back nights and wet gear isn't fun.

I e-mailed the guy who does those racks locally. Might try to pick one up then rig up my Power Dry fan to it.
|
I built one out of scrap wood. The only expense was some hooks. The most labour intensive part was using a power sander to smooth everything out.
Lasted a couple of seasons with no signs of slowing down. I didn't use a plan, I just winged it. |
I have this one: http://www.hockeyoutlet.com/HOprodin...oductSKU=DRYER
All metal, better construction than the PVC ones, and it's been great for me... :) |
I just built mine with PVC pipes. Will drill some holes on them so the air from the blower can circulate better. Costs around $20
