Moving right along. Campbell takes the top spot again but with a smaller margin of victory.

not much to say here. I voted Oleksiak 1 so obviously i voted him 2. Campbell would probably have been 4th on my list.
Oleksiak
Chiasson
Faksa
Campbell

2. Chiasson
3. Oleksiak

For me Oleksiak just edges out Dillon due to his higher top end potential. If he reaches his full potential then he could be a Chara like defenseman. Worst case he turns out to be the next Hal Gill which wouldn't be awful.

Voted Oleksiak, having a hard time choosing between Faksa and Chiasson. I think I'll go with Faksa next.

You don't want to know where Campbell would've been on my list.

Voting Chiasson again, which makes Faksa my #3. Oleksiak was my original #3. And that's only because I'm so pumped about Chiasson and Faksa.

MetalGodAOD* 07-19-2012 11:19 AM

Chiasson then Oleksiak for me.

I'll guess Campbell was 7th on your list

Hello all, haven't posted in a long time but I always enjoy voting for prospect rankings.

I voted for Oleksiak. If his ceiling is a Chara type D-man and he reaches it, he will probably be far more valuable to the team than any of these prospects, even if they reach their highest potential. After the first 3-4 spots its going to be hard to chose the rest of them. Its exciting to have such a deep group.

Oleksiak
Chiasson
Faksa

Chiasson the Oleksiak for me. Them and Faksa are the only guys with top potential, and Faksa is still a bit too unproven.

Cin 07-19-2012 11:45 AM

I voted Nemeth. I think he's going to be the player who ends up in Dillons position next season. He's big, has a great shot, and he'll beat you up. He's a complete defensive package, and he's going to be a nasty, NASTY player. (yet great to have)

His game will transition over incredibly well, and he'll be a force.

1. Campbell
2. Nemeth
3. Oleksiak
4. Faksa
5. Chiasson
6. Stransky (Prolific)
7. Fraser
8. Eakin

Oleksiak
Chiasson

I wish I had seen more of Chiasson to maybe make a more informed decision but I am putting Oleksiak ahead of him.

TrillMike 07-19-2012 12:35 PM

I voted Oleksiak, but Chiasson is so freaking close for me.
Jack
Oleksiak
Chiasson
Faksa
Nemeth

Voted Chiasson at #1, so sticking with him here. probably leaning towards Oleksiak at #3.

Well I feel better knowing I'll never have to vote for Campbell.

Chiasson
Olesiak
Dillon
Faska
Eakin
Nemeth

Give me the offensive upside of Chiasson combined with defensive awareness and proximity to Dallas. He's got a very good blend of attributes and shouldn't drop any further in this poll. I'm still unsure of the order of the bottom four. Dillon, Olesiak and Nemeth should get extra credit if their development means Robidas is no longer in Dallas come 2013 though.

Rune Forumwalker 07-19-2012 04:01 PM

It's very close between Chiasson and Oleksiak, but I went with Oleksiak due to a top defenseman generally being worth more than a top six forward.

I always thought you were high on Dillon. Any particular reason for his exclusion?

I hope he thinks Dillon has a roster spot locked up.

Cin 07-19-2012 05:36 PM

Dillon is definitely an NHL lock.

Suspicions confirmed. I also think Eakin may have a spot locked up too.

Hah and I thought I had issues with that pick.

Does his ranking mean you think he'll bust outright or just not live up to the lofty expectations?

catters078 07-19-2012 11:50 PM

Surprised faksa is seen as most guys 4th in line (behind campbell, oleksiak and chiasson)

I have him 1st

I guess its a good thing if someone as good as faksa is seen as been 4th in line, good for the prospect pool:handclap:

I don't know what to think of him, I haven't really seen him play. I guess he will be up there though, so he should be off my list. The only reason I put Campbell at number 1 is because he'll be in that spot no matter how I vote. Honestly he's not even top 5 in prospects for me.

Nemeth - Everybody knows how I feel about him.

Oleksiak - He's going to be a franchise defenseman as well. I just don't see a smart and talented guy like him not making it big.

Faksa - The ONLY reason he's not number one, is because he's projected to be a 2A. If he picks up the goal scoring and starts to be a first line player, then he'll be number one.

Stransky - This guy has it.
Fraser - Another guy who has it. Both of these guys know how to protect the puck and find the net.

Honestly, after these 5 I feel like it get's really muddy. The players in my 5+ are all of the type who I feel could be career low liners or AHLers (or maybe a longer development)

The 5 I have picked I'm quite confident will be very, very good NHLers.

Cin 07-20-2012 02:12 PM

I totally just left Chiasson off that list, wow. Chiasson is definitely in the top 6 for me as well.

This is a pretty awesome problem to have. I remember when Vish was our only solid prospect haha.
